"My favorite dessert is peach cobbler, and I am one hundred percent a tea person. Coffee is just too bitter for me." She replied. "I live by myself in an itty bitty studio apartment. Or, well, by myself except for Hades. He likes to sleep on top of me while I'm reading. My complex is pretty dated looking, but I don't mind. All my neighbors are cute old ladies who chat with me when I check the mail."
"Hmmm, I'm running out of easy questions. Answer yours, obviously, but then...what do you like to do when you get home from work?"

"That sounds like a pretty nice to live actually, despite being 'dated looking'." He told her with a smile.
"I also live alone, just me, Luke, and Han. Saving the galaxy one dog bone at a time." he joked. "I live in a three bedroom apartment, which is far more space than one person really needs but I somehow fill the space, it has a pool and a gym which is convenient though I don't use the pool all that often."
"Oh that's a good question. I usually make myself some dinner, probably something unhealthy and easy, because that's all I really know how to make. Regardless of the fact that I've been working on video games all day it's not uncommon for me to sit down and play a game for a bit. Or I watch a tv show. I usually save movies for the weekend, telling myself they are too long but still end up watching episodes of a show so make up for at least one movie." he paused thinking.
"Oh, but if the weather is nice then I really love to sit outside on the balcony and read as the sun goes down and the day starts to cool." He said. "Now you go. Also tell me about Hades! What kind of cat is he? Is he pretty friendly or does he hate strangers?" He asked.

River sighed wistfully as she listened to his description of sitting on the balcony. "Honestly, that sounds pretty perfect. What I wouldn't give to be on that balcony with you right now."
"Um, my after-work routine is about the same, although I can cook pretty well, for normal stuff. Dad is...not a great cook for most things. Which, um, sorry Dad, when you watch this?" She laughed. "He makes a few things really well, but I learned to cook early on. So I make dinner, and I listen to music in the kitchen."
"Once I've got dinner I usually watch tv, too, then once I'm done eating I can read without worrying about dropping food on my book. If I can't sleep, I'll stay up in the armchair and read with Hades until I'm too tired to keep my eyes open. I accidentally stayed up all night that way, once, and I still had to go to work the next day. I'm more careful now."
"I honestly don't know how he'd be with strangers now. He was pretty scared of everything when I adopted him, but since I've had him the last couple years, he's a big cuddle bug. He even snuggles with Dad when he comes over. Oh, and he's a big black cat, with really fluffy fur. He's got yellow eyes and a white spot over his heart. That's why I named him Hades, actually, because he looks scary but he's got a light spot in his heart for Persephone. Before I adopted him I think his name was Tucker or something? It just didn't really suit him."
"I have officially run out of easy questions, I think. Can I ask what your masters is in?"

Penn sighed wistfully. "River, that sounds really perfect, I wish we were there together now." He told her. After a pause he chuckled softly. "I can just imagine peeking at you over my book and making silly faces to try to get your attention." He said with another chuckle.
"Okay, honestly, that name is epic and I love it. You're a genius. I actually really like cats, they are far more comfortable to cuddle than dogs...usually. I don't think anyone could like them as much as Percy though." He said with a little laugh.
"Ya for sure, my Masters is in Computer Science. What about you? I remember you said you took a philosophy class, did you tell me this already?" He asked, unsure.

"Oh, it might take more than faces to get my attention if I'm reading," she answered with a laugh, "Dad says it's like I'm on another planet. You might have to throw something at me."
"Aw, thanks! It took me daaays to come up with something good. And I do love cats...maybe almost as much as Percy. I have very seriously considered whether or not I could handle eight cats in one house--his seven plus Hades. It would be a lot."
"Mm, No I don't think I said. I have a BA in English Literature and a Master's in Library Science. You have to, you know, before they let you start working as a librarian. They're very particular about it, and there are levels of librarian, and all these rules. It was pretty overwhelming at first. But I really enjoyed the philosophy class that I took as one of my social sciences during my undergrad, so I still read philosophers from time to time."

He laughed when she talked about being on another planet when she is reading. "Footsie it is then." He said flirtatiously.
"Library Science? That is fascinating, I have never even heard of that. I had no idea it would be so specific or strict. Truly, I'm riveted! What are the different levels of librarian?" He asked, genuine interest in his tone. "Are you like the Master Librarian? Queen of the Books, Ruler of Words, Overlord of Tales."

"Unfortunately the titles are not that cool. It's literally just Librarian, one, two, and three. But I will absolutely accept a title as Master Librarian since technically I am a Master of Library Science," she joked. "We learned about types of cataloging, caring for old manuscripts, digital resources, essay formatting, research techniques, all kinds of stuff. I had to hang on to my textbooks so I can refresh on some things when certain assignments come around during the semester. Like one class of biology students does a bunch of stuff with recent scientific journals, and that always throws me for a loop."

“I never knew being a librarian was so involved.” Penn said with an impressed tone and gave a low whistle to her. “Should I be intimidated by you Master Librarian?” He asked with flirtatious teasing. “I bow to your greatness. Really, I’m bowing.” He had to explain his actions.

"Oh come on now, I am the least intimidating person in the entire world, you goof," River argued, although she couldn't hold her fake-angry tone for long and would up laughing. I may be queen of the books, but I am a kind and generous ruler."

Penn chuckled. "Well that is definitely reassuring. I'll be your loyal knight and keep those who might take advantage of such generosity at arms length." He told her. "I shall protect you m'lady." He said, putting on his best 'knightly' tone of voice.
"You will promise me a third date won't you?" He then asked her.

River squeaked and had to take a moment before she answered a voice that was still a bit higher than usual, Of course, anything for my most loyal knight. It would be my honor."
