THE EXPERIMENT - IN CHARACTER

A number of people have been selected to participate in this romantic experiment. Of all the hopefuls, those who were ultimately chosen are those who are looking for serious relationships and who want to get married. The age range of people selected to participate are 21-39. All couples will come from the hometown of San Diego, CA. This is to give the relationships a more realistic chance of working out long term.

Upon arrival they are given a room in either the men's suite or the women's suite and the very next day the dates would begin.

Stage 1: Blind Dates in the pods
During stage 1 the participants will be paired up randomly with dates. The first round of dates will likely be short and sweet, a quick meet and greet of sorts. Afterwards the participants will get to request further dates with a number of people (keep an eye out for a specific form to request dates). Dates will continue for approximately 10 days (in character) and participants are encouraged to make the dates as creative and personal as they would like, i.e. (you can request specific meals or activities to be provided. The only rules are that you can't see or touch the other person).

At the end of stage one those who feel they have made a strong enough connection will have the opportunity to propose. Not everyone will end up with a proposal. Try not to force it out of character simply to move on to stage 2. There will be fun had for all.

After a proposal couples will get to see each other in person for the first time!

Stage 2: Romantic Getaway
Once engaged, couples will have the chance to continue their relationship in the physical world and find out if, once appearance is involved, the connection continues. There will also be group events during this time.

Stage 3: The Real World
Couples who are still together will move into a new apartment together back in their hometown of San Diego, CA. They will get to see where each other lives and meet each other's family and friends as well as live their regular lives together before the wedding. This will also be the time to plan their wedding.

Stage 4: The Wedding
Will the remaining couples follow through with an "I Do"? We'll find out.

THE RULES & GUIDELINES - OUT OF CHARACTER

• Do NOT reveal who you are! We want to play this as BLIND as possible! There will be NO OOC accounts but you can use an OOC name in the chat box!
• Much like rule 1, you should also not reveal which characters you play! Let people be surprised (we will have a big reveal eventually of course!)
• Do NOT add ANY photo to your mini profile or icons during stage 1! You will be able to do so later but we want to avoid any sort of physical draw, even to a simple image of a car. Images for your accounts for stage 1 have been provided below.
• Characters should have real life face claims, no drawing/anime/etc please.
• You may create as many characters as you would like! Keep in mind that since no one knows who you play your characters may be paired up together in the very early stages of the game. I'd encourage you to play those out to help hide your identity. ^.^
• However, if you choose to play multiple characters please make sure that you give each character equal attention so that none of your dates gets left behind due to inactivity.
• Each character will have a character app that needs to be posted. However! These will be kept secret during stage one. So, each character will have their own password protected sub-board to put their application into! This will be given to you after your account is created! Even The Producers will not be looking at these until they are revealed to everyone. The purpose of this is so that no one tries to change their face claim last minute and helps keep everyone honest as well as giving you a chance to really flesh out your character.
• I want people to “invest” in this in the way they would on a regular site. This is not intended to be the place where you intentionally throw in the oddest/intentionally unattractive/most annoying etc character just to mess with everyone. I am also NOT saying that we need a bunch of perfectly beautiful Mary Sue characters! Just that I hope that people will create characters they would want to play outside of this arena and not simply to mess around.
• We, as roleplayers, often times have a habit of reading into the inner thoughts and feelings of other characters. As part of the experiment, specifically during stage 1, you should limit the amount of those sorts of descriptions in your posts as well as using any sort of physical descriptors as you write. i.e. 'She tossed her long dark brown over her shoulder'. Only describe the things that your date would be able to actual hear.
• Due to the logistics of how the site will run and flow, no homosexual characters will be able to participate.

WHAT TO DO FIRST

• When you create your account use the characters first name only, i.e, @jane. Not @janedoe. Then once the account is created you'll go in and edit the name with first and last name.
• Once your character is created the producers will set up a password sub-board for you and it is in that board you'll post your character app
• Next, you will post your character's mini bio here. This is info that will be given to all the other participants.
• For Stage 1 please use the following images in your mini profile.
