You arrived yesterday and met all of your suite mates. Today is your first day of dates! This morning your phones were all taken from you and will be returned either when you go home or at the start of stage 3! No social media, no contact with the outside world, just a chance for you to focus on your connections with other people here. (You were told this would be the case when you first signed up to be a participant)
The first round of dates will be relatively quick. You'll get a chance to meet all the ladies/gents. The first dates will last about 10-20 minutes (IC) and the purpose is a short little getting to know you.
Here are some topics you might consider talking about (though it's TOTALLY up to you):
General lifestyle (partier/works a lot/spends most time at home alone)

Hopes for this event/what you're looking for in a spouse
Hobbies/Passions

- Posts are limited to 150 words! The idea is to give your characters a little taste but leave them wanting MORE!

As the door closed behind him there was a thud followed by a groan from Penn's side of the pod. "Ow! Ugh...um, sorry." He said, laughing a little at himself. The thud caught her by surprise but as soon as she heard his laughter, her own followed. It was soft, perhaps not even heard past their shared, glass panel. "Are you alright? I've become sort of an expert on toe stubbing as of late," Vanessa declared as another small giggle surface. "I'm Vanessa. It's really nice to meet you, Penn," she returned. "Is that so?" Penn asked with a laugh as she spoke of being an expert. "Sounds like a rather unfortunate thing to be an expert on." He said with a smile in his tone. "Any tips?"
She introduced herself and he moved to sit down. "It's nice to meet you too, Vanessa. You have a very pretty name."
He settled into the date, focusing on her question. "Well, I like to be outside and play with my dogs. I'm not super into sports but I like things like Frisbee and tennis and golf though I'm not an expert at any of them by any means. I'm a software developer by trade so I also enjoy gaming and coding, even in my free time. What about yourself?"

"Unfortunate is right. I think someone breaks into my apartment with the sole purpose of moving my coffee over an inch," she joked. "I've learned that hitting your other toe relieves the pain of the first," she added. "Thank you," she appreciated. "I've never met a Penn before."After the question was returned to her, she spoke. "Well, it's a bit difficult for me to separate work from play. I run a cat cafe and rescue, so I can't really complain but other than playing with cats all day, I like to read and bake. Penn laughed again at her joke of hitting her other toe. "Ya, I guess that would do the trick."
When she commented on his name he replied. "Ah well, technically it's a nickname. My full name is Hugh Pennington, but I've been called Penn since...well ever since I can remember. Very few people call me Hugh." He admitted.
"You run a cat cafe?!" He asked, a tone of delight in his voice. "That sounds like an awesome job." He chuckled pleasantly. "I'd take an inside day over an outside day most of the time honestly. Fresh air is nice, but I like it as something relaxing and not overly strenuous.
"Just two little mixed mutts, they're pretty tiny, both rescues, I think both have some sort of chihuahua in them but honestly I'm not sure." he said. "How did you get into the cat cafe business? That sounds cool."

She hummed in agreement. “It is great most days. It’s always difficult to tell the cats good-bye, even if it’s because they are heading to their new home,” Vanessa admitted. “I totally agree with you. Growing up, there was this outdoor reading nook my parents set up. It was just so tranquil. But I live in the city now, so – unless I go out – the only fresh air I can get is on my balcony,” she added, with a small chuckle. “They sound really cute,” she remarked. “I made my business after college. Nothing against the Humane Society; they do plenty for cats, but I do think they cater more to dogs, which is great! But I just wanted a place to give cats a home, if only temporarily,” she explained. “I started my small rescue first and the café followed.”Hugh Pennington |

"But hey, you have a balcony, so that's a bonus." He said encouragingly with a smile. "I think your business sounds awesome. What do you call it? Does it have a name beyond 'the cat cafe'?" He asked. "I can imagine it would be tough to say good-bye. Do you have any of your own then?"
