FIRST DATES First dates were today. I came in definitely feeling a bit nervous, more than a bit nervous, it's been a long time since I've dated anyone seriously, not since Emma really. Honestly, I was surprised by how well it all went, there were 9 dates today and there are some pretty amazing women here. Maybe this will actually work out. Speyeria was, wow, she honestly blew me away. She was just so amazing. We connected about gaming, she actually minored in game design which is pretty dang cool. We honestly connected about so many things. She's the kind of girl who enjoys a night at home with her friends eating crap food and making fun of movies and that sounds like a dream. She even made be promise for a second date which I was more than happy to do. She's just...incredible, there was definitely some kind of connection there and I can't wait to see what comes of it. Cleo was sweet, a nice girl. I could see being comfortable with her but there wasn't a big spark there. I hope she finds someone though, she seems like she's make someone happy. Shaan was also really cool. She likes video games and dogs and we had a fun chat about that. She is also someone who enjoys being comfy at home, she said she orders a lot of take out which made me smile. She definitely seems like something I could be really comfortable with, just hanging out on the couch and cuddling at the end of the day, someone I could be myself with. We laughed about her love of White Chicks. Oh and she's also a martial arts expert and wants to join the police academy. Pretty impressive actually, maybe a little intimidating, but I'd like to get to know her better for sure. Valeria seems awesome but was also pretty intimidating. We had a fun conversation and she seems like a cool girl but I'm not sure we're super compatible. She did mention wanting someone who could cook and keep up with her with 'dude stuff and sports', I'm definitely neither of those things. Still, she was cool and very outgoing, I have no doubt she'll find someone on this journey. Lainey seems really great. I felt like there could be a connection there but time would tell. She's flirty and fun and I liked how easy it was to talk to her. Vanessa was great. I actually liked her a lot. I love that she owns a cat cafe and she seems really awesome. I'd really love to get to know her better. Gemini was really sweet. She was a bit nervous and shy, maybe a bit quiet but not in a bad way, certainly not in a way that made me enjoy her less. We talked about our families and our dreams. I would like to get to know her better. River was awesome. I love how passionate she is about what she loves. I learned a lot about various topics, including about herself. I thought she was very cute and I definitely would like to get to know her more. Zinnia wasn't super chatty, but seemed like a nice girl. Not sure if there is a connection there yet. |

SECOND DATES I did not get a date with Speyeria today, which was a bit of a bummer at first but I built my connections with some other girls so I'm undecided if I'll try to pursue a date with her tomorrow or not. Vanessa didn't show up to our date. Lainey is really nice but I don't think there is a connection there, and from what I heard last night from the guys, Dean is pretty smitten by her. If she feels the same then it kind of takes her off the table anyway. Gemini is really sweet and I like her, it's been a little slower to get to know her than some of the other girls but I am still interested and curious about her. River is really awesome! I got to know a lot more about her. She is an only child and her mom passed away so it's just her and her dad and they are really close. We talked about what she imagines her life to be like and honestly it sounded to blissful. I felt like we really connected. She's crazy cute and sweet and I have this overwhelming desire to just protect her. I definitely want to see her again. Shaan is a really amazing girl. We definitely connected big time and I felt very comfortable with her. I could imagine a life, chilling with her and eating take out. I would love to see her again and see how she is feeling. It's definitely a challenge to have no idea the kind of connections that the girls are making with some of the other guys. |

THIRD DATES
Today we did this blind maze for the dates and it was super crazy, very exciting, and totally a game changer. While we couldn't see each other, we got the chance to touch and hug and hold hands with the girls we were dating and it was amazing!
My first date was with Shaan. Last night I was talking to Trout and he seems so set on her. He basically said he only wanted to see her and I started to second guess my relationship with her. It's great she's building connections with other guys and I really like Trout, he's a really cool guy. So I felt conflicted going into our date. I really like Shaan but I didn't want to step on Trout's toes and it was a confusing feeling. I voiced my confusion to Shaan and she said that there was no rush and she was happy to give me time but then at the end of our date she had apparently lied or changed her mind or something and said she didn't want to see anymore and just ran off before I could reply. I guess there's my answer.
Then I had a date with River and it was a completely game changer. It was like the last thing we really needed from each other was to hold one another...and kiss. Wow! Kissing her was intense, passionate, and very emotional. The longer we talked the more secure I felt in our relationship and that the feelings I have for her are real. We were very open and honest with one another and though she had a moment where she had a bit of a panic attack I only wanted to protect her and make it better. By the end of the date I knew she was the only one I wanted to keep seeing.
Which brings me to Gem. She had a really hard time with the maze and rather than meeting in the middle I ended up just going to her because she didn't feel like she could keep walking. I felt this urge to keep her safe and make her feel better. I have really liked getting to her but the connection wasn't as strong as with the others and after my date with River I knew I had to be up front with her and tell her the truth. She basically just said 'okay' and walked away. I felt terrible for hurting her, I still do. I hope she finds someone here.
All in all, it was an emotional rollercoaster of a day. I really just need some sleep and hope for some clarity and peace when I wake up. And I definitely play to 'see' River again tomorrow too.
