First dates have been completed and they went well for some people and not so well for others. You submitted your list to The Producers of the top 4-5 people that you wanted to see again and The Producers organized dates as accordingly as they could. If there was someone you missed out on, there will be chances in the future.
The second round of dates will be twice as long as the first. You will have 4-5 dates total this round. For the second dates you are given full freedom to use your creative/romantic juices! If you want to provide food for your date, or a game, or basically anything you can think of then please free to do so, The Producers will provide what you need! The only rules are that you have to stay in your own pods. No seeing each other, no touching. So have at it and have fun!

The previous night, after much convincing and a little bit of beer bribery, Valeria convinced a couple of grips from the film crew to help her do a little bit of rigging.
When Parker enters, soft fluffy pillows rigged to the ceiling will come falling down down on him and a large sign that says "Just sank your blanket fort ship!"
The couch would be pushed up against the wall and replaced by a beach chair. There would be a message in a bottle on the table with a handwritten note reading:
There was also a drink in a coconut with a tiny umbrella.
Valeria sat on the couch in the other pod, sipping her own coconut drink, ready to laugh her ass off.

"What the actual fuck?!?!?! "
Parker yelled when he opened the door to be pummeled by falling pillows. "What the hell is happening here?!?!" he continued until he saw the sign and everything turned into laughter. "Holy fuck Valeria! Woman, you are completely bonkers. I mean you are off the wall bonkers and I am such a fan." He said between laughs. "I can't believe you did that, you're some kid of evil genius."
There was a clink as Parker took the message out of the bottle and read it. "You know, I don't think there's anywhere else I'd rather be than stuck on an island with you," he said with a laugh, "Just you wait. I'll get you back! Look at all this! I'm not a planner, but I swear I'll get you back!"
All that he had put in Valeria's pod was a handwritten not "I owe you 1 scorpion, I had them order it online"

Valeria was laughing so much while she tried to imagine the scene on the other side of the glass that she rolled off the couch and onto the floor "Oh my god, I'm crying, I'm literally crying right now. I'm so glad you know how to take a joke," she said between gasping for breath. "I don't think I could've done this to anyone else and them not totally ditch me."
"And you're trying to get me a scorpion, you are just too sweet. For the record, I'm not always a planner but I had a lot of time on my hands and beer last night, so I went hard," she said, with a sorry attempt to compose herself. "Seriously, I was so nervous, like is he going to love it or is he going to totally hate me. I guess you can tell I'm a risk taker."
"By the way, that's a malibu bay breeze and I totally have a matching set over here. So cheers!" She tapped her coconut against the glass."

"I'm glad you were nervous, you should've been!" Parker said in mock anger, though it was obvious that he was totally joking.
"Cheers you crazy," Parker said with a laugh. "I have never arrived to a travel destination to be attacked by pillows, you're just nuts in the best way." He picked up his coconut and also tapped it on the glass. "Ooo this is tasty! Nice choice! Yeah they wouldn't overnight the scorpion, I tried pretty hard but soon you will know the glory of a roasted scorpion."
"If we were actually stuck on an island, say civilization is there but we elected to rough it in some huts, what fun island stuff would you be doing?" Parker mused, "I think I have an idea of what I'd be doing..." he said, his voice full of mischief.

"Well there's a first for everything! I think I want to experience every first there is to offer, because then there's more out there," Valeria said. "I gotta say, I'm pretty pumped for this scorpion now. I'm imagining you've just sat there eating scorpions like chips at some point or something."
"Ok so deserted island. It would absolutely be something in the sunshine," Valeria spoke as she thought out loud. "And it would have to be something by the water, but I wouldn't run straight into the water... Actually, I know. I'd go find the nearest tropical barbecue. I mean like a pit on the beach with the locals type of thing. I'll eat whatever the local flavor is, especially if it's spicy," she said decidedly. "Because we can't do anything fun on an empty stomach. I hope you like spicy food too!"

"You know what? My planned answer was to be something along the lines of saying if I was on an island with you, the ideal very first thing to do would be kissing you, but to be completely honest the spicy food actually sounds better. I'm in the camp of the spicier the better, plus then your lips will be spicy," Parker blurted out with a carefree laugh.
"Sorry was that too cheesey? Maybe alcohol turns me into a marshmallow or something, this isn't normal, like at all." There was silence for a moment. "Valeria, you're just like really awesome. I'm sure you know that already, but I just have to say it, you're just something special."

Valeria paused before responding. "Wow Parker, you really know how to make a woman feel special, shut up you're making me blush!" Then she let out a shy, maybe nervous laugh. "I don't think guys every paid that much attention to me until I came here. It's all pretty overwhelming," she admitted.
"Seriously, you gotta stop or I'm going to cry or do something equally embarrassing! Come on, tell me about... your family or something!"

"No don't cry Val! Please don't, I'm terrified of when people cry!" Parker exclaimed, "Plus, if you cry, I might cry too!"
Parker took a deep breath. "Ok distraction from tears time! I strive to entertain you know," he said, "I'm originally from DC and my parents moved my sister and I to San Diego when I was 16. So yeah, getting uprooted halfway through high school was a little rough, but I made friends kinda quickly. My parents are both doctors, my dad is a plastic surgeon with his own practice and my mom's a teleworking radiologist, so she was also doubling as a full time stay at home mom, which now that I think about it is completely insane. I've got a little sister, she's two and a half years younger than me and is getting her second degree at Harvard right now. She's going to be a doctor like my parents. There are six doctors in my family right now and she's going to be lucky number seven and I'm super proud of her. I actually go visit her up in Boston sometimes, it's nice there in the fall. There, have I bored your almost tears away yet?"

Valeria laughed, "Not bored, but the distraction worked I guess. This is the part where if you were in the same room I'd playfully punch you and then like go crawl under a blanket or something."
"For the record it does sound like you're really good at making friends, so I have no doubt you turned out pretty ok from that move. I think my childhood was relatively normal except for all the twin jokes but that was just entertaining after a while. I've heard every twin pun you could ever think of. My mom's a nurse, so medical field but not nearly as fancy. My dad was a firefighter before he passed, they met a hospital when he had brought in one of his co-workers who he went to visit every single day. That coworker apparently worked some magic and set them up. I guess that's the reason I believe in love stories."
She sighed wistfully, "I really hope I get to have a love story of my own one day." Valeria paused for a moment, "Sorry that was like grossly cheesy."

Parker was grinning on the other side, "I think you're going to do just fine with a love story, you're in the right place for it. It might not be as long and romantic with no star crossed lovers or anything. I didn't peg you as a roses and white knights type though, like at all." he teased. "Unless you totally are and I'm just wrong."
"For the record, I'm not prince charming, I like to think more of like the roguish dark horse anti-hero or something," Parker said, an air of mischief. "Maybe I'm like the guy on the motorcycle that happens to be a real charmer on the inside, like a James Bond or something badass. I always questioned what movie trope I'd be."

"I think you are too weird a character for a single trope," Valeria said with a giggle. "I think as long as you're not a sparkly vampire we're in the good. I think you're one of the princes that pretends to not be a prince and goes under cover as a treasure hunter or something. Or maybe like a Robin Hood type character. But also, I've known you for like what a day?"
Valeria let out a happy sigh, "It feels like a lot longer than just one day though."
"And no, I'm so not the princess type, but I'm not opposed to a little bit of classic romance every once in a while. Not like in the roses and fancy dinner way though, but just like when someone gets a little silly with showing they care about me. But I don't want to fall into that strong female character trope as someone who doesn't need anyone at all, because I think we all need a little love."

"Oh I totally think you're a princess Val," Parker said, his voice full of mischief. "You're a princess but you're like an Amazon princess like Wonder Woman. You're a princess like Princess Leia or Moana, or those princesses that totally save the world and look awesome doing it."
"And maybe if I'm lucky, you'll notice the mud covered vagabond explorer that happens to be in the same place at the right time," he continued. "Isn't it crazy? Talking to you is as easy as breathing. I think I could do this every day. Well minus the pillow assault, that needs to be limited to like once a week or something."

"Ok maybe I can get on board with that. I'm sure somewhere out there a princess ends up with the explorer. In Dr. Dolittle, the princess turns into the explorer and goes and finds a veterinarian that can talk to animals, that's the closest I can think of," Valeria said with a laugh.
There was a rustle as she cuddled up with the blanket. "So what happens after the adventure?" she asked softly, a question she had been hesitant on all day. "Like what happens when we have to deal with ordinary life and stuff? What's would a home life look like for you?"

"What after the adventure?" Parker was quiet for a moment. "Ummm, I don't really know. I've never really considered not being on the road half the time," he said, totally honest. "I mean I guess some day I might settle down or something, but I haven't really pictured that for myself. I like the idea of having a kid or two one day, but definitely not yet."
"I don't know Val, I don't think I ever want this adventure to end, but I think it would be super cool if you were on board it with me," Parker said, stretching out on the couch. "I haven't seen Dr. Doolittle yet, what did the characters do for their happily ever after? Maybe that will give me an idea or something."

"Ummm I promise I'm not spoiling it but..." Valeria said awkwardly, "Lily the explorer dies in the first like ten minutes of the movie... So like... don't do that please. I'd be pretty sad if you died in the first 10 minutes of your movie. I don't get why adventure girls always die first, like Lily Dolittle and Ellie in Up."
"Look, I really like you Parker and you're some of the most fun I've ever had," Valeria sighed. "You just "get" me and I feel like I can talk to you about anything or we could do anything and still have a great time. There's this really strong connection I feel with you, but I want to marry someone that will settle down and have kids and that whole thing. I really want kids, like lots of them. I don't need to have them right away or anything, but I do want to start a family in the next five years, so it's important for me to know if you're down for that or not."

Parker let out a sigh, "I just don't know Val. I mean I'm someone who changes a lot of things for love, be it for a hobby or a person or whatever. I guess some people call it inconsistent but I'm not a person with rock solid wills and ambitions." Parker said, observing something in himself.
"What I mean by that is that if I find something I want to work for, a lot of other stuff can change. Sometimes those things sound like a big deal," Parker said. "I wanted to be one of the best architects in sustainable history ever, so I worked really hard and was well on my way there. But then, I realized I loved sharing travels and inspiring people, so it changed. I didn't really think about it, but my love for it made me change everything."
"When I came here, I knew that travel might be a big dealbreaker," Parker said honestly, "I told myself that even though it might be super hard, I'd keep an open mind and consider things changing if I fell madly in love and had to. Because I always believe as much as I love something, there's so much love in the world and I can't even grasp that concept."
"Valeria, I'm not going to lie and give you fluff, but I mean it when I say I don't know yet but my mind can be changed. This is me being as open as I can be with you because I feel like we clicked right away and our connection has only gotten stronger."

Valeria listened quietly, drinking in every word "That's really something Parker," she said softly. "I don't think anyone's been that open to me before. Thank you, I really appreciate it."
"I think I've always had this idea of what I want, a big family, a house full of kids, a yard for them to play in, a taproom for my brewery," Valeria said, getting emotional. "I've never met anyone that really shares that vision for me, and I know I can't expect something exactly like how it plays out in my head. But I've also never met anyone like you either."
Another pause.
"This is really hard and confusing, and I'm sure it is for you too. I don't want to make you bend over backwards for my fantasies if that's so far from what you want because relationships are about things like compromise and finding a special place for both of us..." Valeria said. "I guess what I'm saying is, I really like you and your outlook in life is so special that I never want to let it go... but I just don't know where I can fit into it... Like where can I fit into it?"

There was silence at first on Parker's side of the wall. "Ok so I don't want like ten kids, I'm not sure I'm equipped for that. Actually the whole thought of being a father is pretty scary. I mean it sounds like a whole new adventure of life to be part of and that fascinates me, but it would close a lot of doors."
"Maybe I can't live on the road forever and ever, but right now that's what I do. I think down in my gut I know one day I'll be an architect again, but that day sounds pretty far off in the future but maybe that's just because I'm 25 and I kinda suck at planning ahead," Parker confessed. "I just really want to live a life on terms that I set myself or with a partner in life. Maybe I'll end up writing historical architecture books or go restore old houses or something in the future. I think I do really need something new and exciting all the time, but raising a kid probably comes with all those new and exciting things. And I can show my kid all this cool stuff."
"But my gut tells me that it's too soon for me to really settle down, I have so much I want to see and do first, even as a new couple." he said softly

"I can't wait to teach my kid how to play crazy blanket fort games," Valeria said, cheer returning to her voice, "I think parenthood would be the most exciting adventure I could ask for. I mean I have the brewery and it's a lot of work but it's running pretty smooth. I'm really glad to have my brother to do half the work with me."
"You're not wrong, I still think that way sometimes, but I guess I'm growing up and I want to do that settle down thing in the next few years," Valeria said truthfully. "So not like right away because there's still adventures to be had and I think even with kids, there can still be adventures."
Valeria sighed again "I can tell that you're a really caring a giving person Parker, but don't feel like you should give everything up for someone, even if you're willing to." she said softly. "It might not feel like a big deal to you, but you can't give up the things that make you someone that someone falls in love with."
