Post by The Producers on Apr 20, 2020 14:37:02 GMT
First dates have been completed and they went well for some people and not so well for others. You submitted your list to The Producers of the top 4-5 people that you wanted to see again and The Producers organized dates as accordingly as they could. If there was someone you missed out on, there will be chances in the future.
The second round of dates will be twice as long as the first. You will have 4-5 dates total this round. For the second dates you are given full freedom to use your creative/romantic juices! If you want to provide food for your date, or a game, or basically anything you can think of then please free to do so, The Producers will provide what you need! The only rules are that you have to stay in your own pods. No seeing each other, no touching. So have at it and have fun!
RULES - Remember to keep physical descriptions out of your conversations. - Each person gets only 20 posts in this thread! - Posts are limited to 300 words!
Will your connections grow stronger today or will you cross another name off your list of possibilities? !
This date is for Percy West & Cleo Saintclair!
What did you do to make this date special? Anything?

Percy had chosen sunflowers for Cleo, as a hint to the Italian phrase he had given her before they parted on the first date. There was also a box of cat shaped paper clips. "I definitely forget we don't have acesss to google translate and remembered when I left the pod yesterday," he said with a shy chuckle.

Inside Percy's pod he'd find a simple drawing of a cat wearing a crown, wearing ballet slippers, holding a violin in one paw and an Italian flag in the other with the words 'Lords of the Cats' written above it.
There was a laugh from Cleo's side when she came into the pod and found the paper clips. "Aww you remembered, these are way cuter than the ones I accidentally stole from work." She said with another laugh.
"I know right? I forgot too. It definitely made it harder, plus I don't know how to spell the words either." She chuckled again. "I think I got the words 'you' and 'me' and 'sun'." She paused. "Is that why you picked sunflowers?!" She suddenly said excitedly.

Percy laughed out loud when he saw the drawing, "Cleo, you are a woman of many talents, this is probably the best thing I've ever seen."
"I said that you are the sunshine in my day, or at least that's the rough translation." Percy told her. " Apparently I only speak Italian at about a middle school level. It's enough to get around without getting lost and communicate with the residency and such. If I had to give a speech or debate something, I'd lose miserably. It still does sound pretty though."
"I think it's your turn to share some secret talents of yours."

"I know it's not much," she said in response. "I'm sure plenty of your other dates were far more creative or elaborate from the bits and pieces I heard during the planning process. But I was just doodling last night and was thinking about our date, so I thought I'd share." She admitted with a shy little laugh.
"Oh, that's cute! How sweet. Well I love the sunflowers, now they are even more special." She told him.
"Secret talents hmmm?" She said thoughtfully. "Well I'm a skilled doodler." She joked, the drawing was really not all that extravagant in the least. "I can do the Spock thing with my fingers, I definitely know plenty of people who can't. Oh, and I can do that three leaf clover thing with my tongue." She said with a little laugh. "Nothing nearly as interesting as speaking Italian."

"Cleo, I think it's perfect. I like simple things. I think personality is more important than extravagance anyways. I was actually pretty intimidated because I think Blake slept in the kitchen or something and some of the guys had the production up all night getting stuff prepared. I kinda gave them my list this morning with whatever I could think of." Percy admitted with a laugh.
"I'm trying to do the Spock thing right now and I just can't, is there a trick to it or something?" Percy said with a laugh, "I don't know what three leaf clover thing you're talking about so you'll have to show me one day."

“I know a few of the girls who stayed up most of the night. I don’t function super well on too little sleep so I guess I figured it was better in the end to have a clear mind than work on something overly elaborate. I guess that’s something to know about me, I’m not the best or most creative at gift giving. I agonize over them forever until I run out of time and have to come up with something on the spot.” She admitted.
“I actually don’t know. I’ve heard various theories about whether or not it’s physically impossible for some people. I’ve just always been able to do it.” She said with a little laugh.

"Hmmm maybe it's impossible for me, but I'll keep trying," Percy said with a laugh.
"I wonder if the whole learning to speak Italian and serenading is me overcompensating for the lack of knowing how to plan a large romantic gesture. I've seen plenty of rom coms with my sisters but I never understood how throwing pebbles at a window worked. I think I'd be more scared of a serial killer if there was tapping at my window," Percy mused. "I think my love language is quality time, but only because writing songs about someone isn't on the list. What about yours?"

Cleo laughed brightly when Percy talked about serial killers vs a romantic gesture. "That's a fair point actually. I wonder what my initial reaction would be." She said, still chuckling. "Well regardless, whatever you're doing is working." She told him. "I wouldn't classify it as 'overcompensating'." She told him sweetly.
"They should add a sixth love language just for that." She told him. "Mine is words of affirmation. I need that outward confirmation that I'm doing okay." She explained. "Otherwise I always wonder."

"See if I knew how, I'd be making a mixtape or something, but I don't actually remember how to do that anymore. Maybe I'll just have to write a medley or something instead," Percy said with a chuckle. "And for the record, I think you're doing more than ok. You're really nice to talk to."
"So what made you decide to study business in school?"

“Oh I love medleys! They’re so fun!” She said brightly. “Aww, thank you Percy. That means a lot! I love talking with you too.” She told him.
“Well, it was sort of a mix of things. I was pretty interested in the idea of business and how it all works. But I also figured it would be pretty versatile and I could use it in a ton of ways. It felt safe and smart and something I could always use regardless of how things went.”

"That's pretty cool, business can be really hard sometimes but you're so calm and collected that I think you'd be really great at it, plus you can follow whatever passion you have" Percy said, "Do you have any really awesome business ideas? I love watching stuff like Shark Tank."
"You might think this is really weird, but I have no idea what normal college is like. I grew up going to performing arts schools and then went to a conservatory for violin, so we didn't really do many papers or anything, just a lot of practice and performances." Percy said with a chuckle, "I only had three cats back then."

"Oh ya, Shark Tank is super fun! I don't have any business ideas myself yet. I guess I wouldn't classify myself as particularly creative, so I don't imagine I would come up with any sort of new invention of a product." She said with a little chuckle. "I'm happy to just enjoy the ride for now and see where it takes me. I'm sure I'll be more concerned when I get closer to graduation."
She chuckled softly when he mentioned only having three cats at that point. "I don't think that's 'weird', it might not be typical but honestly it sounds pretty smart. It probably gave you a heck of a lot more value than studying theory and writing papers would." She told him.
"So, let's see, do you want kids?" She asked him.

"I like that you don't worry about stuff like that, I think that's a good attitude to have," Percy commented. "What I think I missed out in college was the whole transitioning to a next stage of life thing I guess. Life just felt the same except I was in Boston. I dropped out my second year though, I guess that's when my life really started changing."
"Hmmm I always knew this question was going to be one of the top questions in this," Percy said with a sheepish chuckle, "But I haven't planned a very good answer to it." He paused. "I like the idea of kids, but I'd be just as ok without them. If my wife wants kids, then I'm down but if she doesn't then that's ok too as long as we make the decision together. I just wouldn't want them right away."
"What about you?"

"I think that's a pretty good stance to take about kids." She told him. "Fluid. You wouldn't be disappointed either way. That's nice." She said.
"I've always know that I want to be a mother. I don't know how many, one would be fine, but probably at least two. I'm not in a hurry either. I'm only 23 and have plenty of time before my biological clock will start ticking in warning." She said with a little laugh. "I would love to spend a good amount of time married to my husband before introducing kids. Time we can get to know each other as a married couple before adding in someone new."

"Fluid," Percy echoed, "That's the perfect word for it. I'm 28, but I still feel like decisions like that are so far away from me. I know I'm totally a fan of gradual change. Like I don't know what I'd do if I was fully uprooted."
"I think in the past I've had times where I've been thinking "oh I should never have kids" and other times when I was thinking "I would be such a great dad!" and it just changes the way that any life situation changes. So maybe I'll marry someone and we have other priorities or maybe I'll be with someone whose life calling is parenthood, what would really matter to me is the life I'd be building with that person." Percy mused. "When I try to picture what my married life would be like, I just can't picture anything. Is that weird? All I see are... cats..."

Cleo giggled. "Well considering the quantity you have I'm not at all surprised that all you see are cats." She said playfully, giggling again.
"Oh here is a serious question." She said. "If you fell in love, head over heels in love with someone, and then found out they were allergic to cats. Or if you had a child who was born very allergic to cats. What would you do?" She asked.

"You know, that's one of those questions I've asked myself a dozen times, but still don't know the answer to." Percy admitted, "I guess I know a lot less answers than I thought I did."
"My music room is cat free when I'm not there, so I guess cat proofing is possible. I feel like if anyone's badly allergic to cats then the whole seven cats thing would already be a dealbreaker to them right?" he thought out loud. "I mean I made a commitment to my kitties to love them forever.... oh and I can't part with Rowena and Cedric or I'll lose my house or something. It's in the will."

"I feel like if I was in your position I just wouldn't bother trying to decide what I would do until it came up, no reason to worry yourself over a 'what if', right?" She said with a little chuckle. "Well don't worry, I'm not allergic or anything. I was just curious. So what is your house like? I can imagine all sorts of scenarios that come with having so many cats." She said with a little chuckle.

"I feel like I wonder "what if" a lot, especially lately," Percy admitted, "but it kind of scares me because usually I don't know the answers so I can't figure out what to do if anything ever happens. I'm so glad you're not allergic to cats, because I like you a lot and that would be a bummer if you couldn't cuddle with the kitties."
"The thing about my house is that my grandfather loves cats as much as I do, if not more." Percy said with a chuckle. "So there's ledges, cat trees, and stuff all over the house for the kitties to play on. What's supposed to be the master bedroom is actually my music room, and I live in the smallest room of the three bedroom house. My sister goes to USC so she's usually around on weekends if not more to use my home studio and the guest bedroom is pretty much hers and it's in the attic. She did most of the decorating too, lots of plants and it doesn't look like a total bachelor pad. The home studio is mostly for demos and testing stuff together, we go to a recording studio for final versions of stuff. West Records is based in Nashville so we have a deal to rent time at another studio in town."
