"Newsflash Gem, love ain't perfect, but I'm ok with that because I don't know shit about being perfect," Parker said. "Does I have no idea what I'm doing but it doesn't really matter, count as simple enough? I know it sounds crazy but honestly I just kinda just go with the flow. I shower regularly, have never been struck by lightning before, and most dogs consider me comfy from what I can tell." His voice was casual, like he as just taking a stroll on the beach.
"I can't give you boring though, I'm not entirely sure I know the meaning of the word or how to do it."
"Hey I found you!" He exclaimed when he heard the automated voice. "So umm is this a hug or a high five type thing? Whatever you're comfortable with, I'm a gentleman and I'm not pushing you."

"You found me!" Gem mirrored. "I think a hug is perfectly appropriate." There was a smile in her voice. She would reach both hands out in front of her, inching forward cautiously.
Should he encounter her, he would discover her to be about 5'6 and possessing an average build.

"A hug it is," Parker said, scooping Gem into a hug. He's about 5'9 with a lean build, smelling like eucalyptus and mint. His cotton t shirt is soft and he's wearing shorts.
"So feel better about being in the dark now? Look, I'm not sure what counts as boring to you, but I think this is the opposite of boring," he said with a laugh. "Ok, now tell me cool things, I already know you're full of them."

Gem embraced him in return, holding her breath as she did so.
"I can't believe I'm touching you. I feel like I know you but...we're just strangers!" She let her arms fall to her sides then. "Don't get me wrong, boring isn't bad from where I sit. There's safety in boring. But cool things? Uhm, one of my brothers is a professional athlete, and the other is on Broadway."

"I feel like this place tends to have that effect," Parker said with a chuckle, "the knowing you really fast part. It's been what? 3 days and people are getting down on one knee already and it's terrifying. But hey, that's adventure if I've ever seen it."
"Wow so your brothers are famous and that sounds super exciting! I wanna go see them," Parker said, "I do admit to having a soft spot for musicals, they're almost as high on my list as Disney movies. Of course the real winner is a Disney musical."
"Ok so what do you think is the most important thing I should know about you?"

"My brother was Tarzan in the off Broadway show!" She told him, chuckled. "That's not the most important thing. Sorry, bad timing. The most important thing..." she fell silent for a moment, then, slowly, "The most important thing you should know about me is that I don't want to die alone." She hesitated, then started to laugh. "And I'm very aware of how pathetic that sounds. What about you?" |

"Oh my god I have to go see it! I love Tarzan!" Parker blurted out before laughing, "What do you mean pathetic? I think no one wants to die alone. I think if you have fears you should own your fears, totally boss them around." He said.
"I think that is the most important thing about me..." He said slowly, "I don't let my fears hurt me, because I want to be in charge of what I get to do and who I want to be. The reason I'm not a doctor like the rest of my family, well for one I'm kinda clumsy, but also I don't want to be surrounded by hurting and dying people. I'm not tough enough to do that. But what I can do is make people smile, maybe inspire them a little bit, so I concern myself with living and being in the present because any time, anywhere someone could disappear from my life or I could run out of time to smile. So yeah, I just want life to be a constant adventure, wherever it is."

"I love that, Parker. I can definitely see that about you. You crave adventure, and you,as an individual, are an adventure. I think that's why so many of the girls are fond of you." Gem sighed. "But Parker? If I'm being honest, I like you more as a friend than as a romantic partner. I think you've done a really good job of being a good friend. That being said...I don't actually need something hot and electric. I've had that before...and while it was exciting, it was unstable. I was always on my toes, and it was uncomfortable. I'd much rather be with a guy who is a friend first, a romantic partner second. But you may not see things that way, which is why I wanted to be up front about all this. I've already been rejected by some guys in this experiment. If you're going to walk away too I'd rather it was now."

"I'm not just going to walk away from you Gem," Parker said. "it's up to you if you walk away or not, but I want you to know that I will care about you either way, even if it's just as friends."
"But I can't say that there won't be adventure, because there's always adventure around me, I can't live without it..." he said softly. "I mean... I have a house to with a yard, and it's all pretty cool... and I'd love if my person was on the road with me sometimes if they want, but only if they want to and I won't be mad if they don't because I know it can be a lot... I can be a lot... and the last thing I want is for you to not know what you're signing up for and then being disappointed..."

Gem shook her head, though he might not see it in the dark.
"I don't think we are understanding each other." She said simply. Unless, they were, and Parker was just dismissing her in his friendly sort of way.
"Maybe it's best if we go our separate ways." And there it was: he was the last potential guy for her. Another failed attempt at love.
