Penn didn't answer right away while he made a right turn, without paying too much attention to where he was going. After a minute he let out a small exasperated chuckle. "Gosh, why does this have to be so hard? I mean I've seen enough of these kinds of shows to know that some people like multiple people at once but I never understood it. And now here I am."
He paused again before he continued. "Ultimately I want you to do what you feel is best, but you need to know that I'm still conflicted and I have strong feelings for other people too... And I do want to endorse Trout. From what I know of the two of them, which is arguably very little considering the number of days we've been here, but I feel like you'd make a pretty great team."
"I mean, I'm pretty great too." He joked lightly. "I just don't know." He said with a sigh.

Shaan hit a dead end.
Penn came to a large open space and an automated voice rang out. "You have reached the center of the maze. Please wait here for your partner."

"Hey if you arent sure where you're at you just aren't sure and thats fine... As long as you do actually like me we're fine and we have time. Let's just take things as they are considering YOU CHECKING FOUND THE MIDDLE FIRST" She huffed and laughed. "Either way it ends up going. I'll be ok with it.. I mean you are pretty great."

Penn laughed as Shaan stopped mid sentence when he made it to the middle. "George just lucky I guess." He joked, quoting a movie but realizing she might not catch that.
"You got this! You're so close!" He cheered her on. "And you're right. We have time. I guess I just feel so rushed with so many people making decisions already."

Shaan corrected and would soon find herself in the same large open space. "You have reached the center of the maze. Now you must find the exit together." Said the automated voice.

She made the turn and heard the voice she walked forward slowly towards the shape of him and tossed her arms around him in a hug. She was short in height and had a rather small frame. "FINALLY... Hi there Hugh.. It's nice to actually properly be here.." She laughed a little bit as she trembled slightly. "Oh boy this is.. This is terrifying like in a good way but this is.. I am really really nervous."

Penn laughed brightly as they finally made contact and he hugged her tightly with his 6'2 frame. He wasn't exactly lanky but he wasn't built either, he had some muscle tone, and was more on the skinny side than on the large side. He was wearing a T-shirt with a blazer and jeans, the texture of each she’d been able to feel. He smelled of clean laundry. He was clean shaven save for a tiny bit of stubble of today’s growth.
"Hi Shaan." He replied, squeezing her just a bit tighter for a moment. "Don't worry, nothing to be nervous about with me." He told her though his own heart was starting to race. "This is such a crazy feeling." He said with a little laugh.

She was a full foot shorter than him. His arms most likely would have felt her hair. Long almost to the center of her back soft and straight. She smelled like a mix of peppermint and teatree, She move one hand up to touch his chest and ran it up to gently touch his cheek. "Its just... Wow you're here.. I can actually touch you and you're real.. I mean not that you weren't real but.. Youre here.." She laughed as she nervously spoke.
She let out a tiny squeak when he squeezed her and then she huffed. "Damnit.. I'm blushing really hard right now.. " She moved her head, lightly pressing it to his chest.

He sighed, relaxing into her touch and when her hand touched his cheek he placed his own hand on top of hers. "Oh I'm real alright, at least last time I checked. I suppose I could be some really advanced AI and I just haven't realized my true nature yet." He said with a little laugh.
He closed his eyes as she pressed her face into his chest. The fit well together. His thumb moved to touch her cheek softly. "Yep, definitely a bit warm." He commented lightly and then swallowed.

A chuckle left her as she nuzzled her face into his chest more, enjoying being there with him. "Well... I always thought it would end this way. Falling for an AI and unleashing it upon the world..At least it will be cool." She moved her hand to stroke his back softly, feeling his thumb on her cheek she laughed a bit. "Im glad you cant see it.. I get really really red when I blush.. Its not cute."

Penn chuckled at her comment. "Ya, it's pretty bad ass at least." He joked.
"I bet it's still cute." He said to her with a gentle laugh. "It really is amazing." He squeezed her tighter.

She laughed and nuzzles her face against him sighing happily. "God I like you so much.. You're such a great guy and I'm happy that I get to be here with you... World ending AI or not." She chuckled as she looked up at him slightly placing a small kiss on his chest.
"Nahh I look like a total dork." She chuckled and squeezed him back lightly. "I dont wanna let you go."

Penn curled in around her, his arms holding her more tightly. He placed a small kiss on her head as he hugged her. He took a shuddering breath. "You are a really amazing girl, Shaan." He told her quietly.

"You're the amazing one..Penn..c..can I kiss you?" Her voice came out in a small squeak as she asked, her hands trembling a small bit. She pulled just slightly back from him to look up at him standing just a little straighter.

Penn shook a bit and swallowed before he answered her, but instead of using words he took action instead. With his hand on her jaw to find his way, he bent down and with a small hesitation just before his lips met hers, he closed the distance and kissed her.

She slid her arms up to lace around his neck and kissed him back softly, her lips trembling as she leaned into him. She held the kiss for a moment before pulling back just slightly. "More of that should totally happen.." She said slightly breathlessly. She gave his lips another small peck, moving one of her hands onto his cheek.

Penn chuckled a little at her words, his voice a bit shaky. His hand moved on top of hers on his cheek, his thumb stroking her hand softly.
"I want to be honest with you." He whispered. "I'm feeling really conflicted right now. I like you a lot, Shaan, but my mind is just battling with itself at the moment." He paused and sighed. "I just don't feel like I'm being myself."

A frown crossed her face as she slowly dropped her hands to her sides, taking a small step back. "Talk to me.. We're adults, Run me through whats going through that head of yours?" Her tone was soft and gentle, she did reach out and gently took one of his hands, holding it.
"Is this the breaking it to me gently part?"

Penn groaned softly and ran his fingers through his hair with one hand. When she took his hand he squeezed hers softly and brought up, placing a kiss on her knuckles.
"I don't know. Part of me regrets coming here. No matter what I do at this point someone will get hurt, even if that meant just me walking away from it all. I can't help but be jealous of people like Dean and Lainey who connected so quickly and never had to hurt anyone because no one had the chance to connect to them strongly enough to be hurt." He talked quickly, just a stream of thoughts flowing from his mouth. His thumb moved back and forth over her knuckles as he spoke.
"But I don't know yet. There is so much pressure all of a sudden to just make a choice but I can't decide who to pursue and who to let go and..." He groaned again. "I must sound pathetic right now." He said with a guilty, sad chuckle.

She stared straight ahead, thinking for a few moments before speaking, her voice wavering slightly.
"Thats the big thing huh...No matter what someone does get hurt..You have to decide whats best for you Hugh. I'd rather have had the chance to do all this and experience this all rather than not... The good and the bad." She took a deep breath.
"So.. Who is it? Who has you stumbling over yourself this bad because this.. though I'm still crazy about this guy.. Is not the Hugh I saw yesterday...You also don't have to pick today.. You still have time.. Everyone does. The best thing to do is just.. close your eyes and think.. Think of a warm fire, a long day at work and coming home.. Who's waiting there on that couch for you in your head?
