It was going to be a long day, there were plans to grab things from their respective homes but the bigger hurdle was that she was going to take Parker Domino to meet her grandma. Now Grandma was probably not at all going to be what he expected and she was damn sure the man she brought home was not going to be what SHE expected. She had called her the night before briefly to ask if she would be home and explain that she was going to be bringing her fiance home. After that shock she opted to dress to favor her grandmother opting for a simple black dress with tights and heels. She was nervous enough so she just plugged the address into Tesla and let it do its magic driving thing. They arrived in front of her house pretty quickly. She gave him a terrified looking grin as she checked her hair in the mirror. She lived with the woman and was still nervous. Even more so now that her grandmother had opened the door upon seeing their car pull up. Shaan opened her car door and stepped out. "Hi grams this is Par-" she was cut off abruptly. "Aana do you have any idea how absolutely god damn crazy you are. You went on a REALITY show and you're coming home with a boy you hardly know to MARRY. I knew you were batshit but honey this a new level." Her grandmother scolded her for a moment before turning to look at the man Shaan had brought home. "Well, whether or not I'm a fan of how you met..Hello, I'm Izabella Belmont." She said as she extended a manicured hand out to Parker to greet him. "Well come on in. Mind the third stone on the left side." She said softly. Shaan gave Parker a thumbs up as Izabella turned her back before reaching for his hand to hold as she followed her grandmother inside their house.

For someone that was never afraid of anything, Parker sure was nervous about meeting the famous Grams he had heard so much about. He even went down the street and picked up a bouquet of pink roses and olive branches from down the street.
As they arrived, Parker was still nervous. He had actually never been this nervous meeting the family of any of his ex girlfriends, or even his ex fiancee. Granted, he knew Lori's family since they were kids so that hadn't been hard. Parents loved him! He was funny, charming, and had a good family. What more did a parent usually want?
But still. This. Was. Scary.
"Hi Mrs. Belmont!" Parker exclaimed, shaking her hand and holding out the flowers. "These are for you." he managed to get out before following the women into the house. He figured he'd led Shaan lead the way on this one.
"Shaan's really amazing and I love her so much and I promise to take really great care of her forever." he blurted out with a light blush.

Izabella looked at the boy that was to marry her daughter and blinked twice, she did however take the flowers. Shaan was smiling as she led them into the living room, this was a terrifying day and she was thinking about escaping through the window. "Well.. I uh.. We actually spent like a week in Greece together and uh.. I dunno I like him and he's pretty cool." She said with a small shrug.
The living room was small and simple, a few pictures of the family over the years and things like that, Shaan lead Parker over to the couch as she sat down, moving to gently hold his hand. It was Izabella that broke the tension. "Ok so you two are planning to marry.. What makes you two think you know eachother well enough.. What about a family, where are you all going to live. What do you even do.. Uh..Par."[/i] She said as she sat down folding her hands into her lap. She realized she had cut her daughter off before she heard his name fully. Shaan bit her lip a small bit, she was trying to think of a decent reply to her Grandmother.

Parker squeezed Shaan's hand as he obediently followed her lead and sat on the couch. He probably needed it more than she did. This rodeo never got easier no matter how many times he had done it.
"Oh ummm, It's Parker..." Parker said, quite afraid of correcting her first. "And I'm a travel blogger! I used to be an architect but I just really like writing about architecture. I might go design stuff again one day though, I designed my house. Oh yeah, I- I have a house. We can live there." he rambled.
"I mean yeah it's been like two weeks but the important part is that I know how much I love her and I can keep learning about her forever," he said with the biggest grin he could muster.

Izabella watched the two of them like a hawk. She wasn't surprised at all that it was Parker that spoke up first. "Thank you.. Parker. Hm. So you're a blogger..You gave up being an architect to write and travel.. cozy and fun as that sounds how well does it pay the bills? Sure having a house already is good but.." She asked with a raised brow.
Shaan actually did speak up in a rather pointed tone. "Babushka, pozhaluysta! U nego yest' den'gi, eto ne problema" She spoke very quickly with a frown on her face. Izabella shot back in kind "YA khochu, chtoby moi vnuki vospityvalis' pravil'no, u tebya uzhasnyy vkus, mogu ya volnovat'sya?" Shaan rubbed her forehead with a free hand. "Sorry.." She said more directed to Parker.
"He's a good guy Grams. Trust me on this?" She asked softly.
"I don't know.. two weeks feels like not enough time.. What if you have another episode and terrify the poor boy?" She asked softly.

Parker's relatively recent change of employment certainly was an eyebrow raiser. He shifted in his seat, "Well. yeah, the blog pays for the mortgage and the car payment and living and stuff," he said "it's pretty popular. But you know if people stop traveling or something I can always go back to being an architect." Talking about money was always weird for him. "I had a pretty great job right after I graduated from Cornell... and some stocks and stuff and I could probs just work again." Parker was oddly casual about this information, like people just simply went to Cornell and quit their jobs after.
Well, usually the fear of talking about money came from girlfriends prying a bit too hard, and then getting distracted. Shaan clearly wasn't like that so why should be afraid, plus he was absolutely going to marry her so he decided to more or less spill it. "I mean if worst comes to worst I can just sell the house... that's like almost half a mil right there until I get another job or flip another house..." he said, not really able to make eye contact. For someone who never planned anything he had a pretty solid backup plan. He hadn't actually shown Shaan the house or told her all that much about it, but considering the size, neighborhood and the fact it was fully customized, half a mil was a bit low of a guess. He hadn't paid nearly that much for it of course. The house was originally pretty run down but had good bones, the value came from all his own creativity and hard work.
"Oh and there's a conditional trust fund..." he nervously squeaked out. "But nothing that Shaan can do will freak me out and. I can take care of her, I promise!" That part he was actually confident in. "Whatever it takes."
