You arrived yesterday and met all of your suite mates. Today is your first day of dates! This morning your phones were all taken from you and will be returned either when you go home or at the start of stage 3! No social media, no contact with the outside world, just a chance for you to focus on your connections with other people here. (You were told this would be the case when you first signed up to be a participant)
The first round of dates will be relatively quick. You'll get a chance to meet all the ladies/gents. The first dates will last about 10-20 minutes (IC) and the purpose is a short little getting to know you.
Here are some topics you might consider talking about (though it's TOTALLY up to you):
General lifestyle (partier/works a lot/spends most time at home alone)
Occupation
Hopes for this event/what you're looking for in a spouse
Hobbies/Passions

Cleo's steps were mostly quite quiet as she entered the room for her first date. "H..." She had a frog in her throat and cleared it. "Hi..." She said, unsure if someone was there yet. "Is anyone there?"

"Oh Shi- Hey, Hi. I really didn't think anyone was in there yet, sorry. I'm Alex" His voice was deep and raspy, but it had hitched an octave at the start, clearly he was surprised. "Nice to meet you. Uh, what sort of music are you into.

"Oh sorry, I didn't mean to startle you." Cleo said with a kindness and a smile in her voice. "I'm Cleo. Nice to meet you too." She considered his question for a moment. "A variety. I like whatever is on the radio, also country sometimes...um, I love music from the 80s and 90s, my guilty pleasure. What about you?" She returned the question.

"No no you're fine, damn glass makes it hard to tell." He let out a nice laugh to break the awkwardness. "Nice name. Music is kinda my job, I play a lot of rock and alt rock, from original stuff to covers. I'll totally admit to a weakness to early mid 2000's music. What do you do for a living?"

"Oh wow, really? That's...that's really awesome!" She said, a genuine tone in her voice. "I've love to hear your music sometime." She told him.
"I'm currently working as a secretary for a paper company while I'm going to school at San Diego State. I'm majoring in business." She told him. "So what's your day to day like? Do you work a lot of hours or travel or do you spend most of your time at home?" She asked.

"We can arrange that, I did bring my guitar with me, though its in my room right now. He gave a small chuckle, his tone light. "That sounds nice actually, totally the first thing that come to mind was The Office not gonna lie." He made an attempt at a joke hoping it hit. "Really depends honestly, I do a lot of Gigging at a few bars and clubs, a few are set up as regular things so I dont have to travel more than the usual guy for work. I do take days off for myself though and lounge in my apartment, It's a relaxed life for now.

Cleo laughed happily. "It's not the first I've heard that." she admitted. "I love The Office, so I don't mind the comparison. I wish I could work at Dunder Mifflin, sounds funner than Green Field. But it's whole purpose is to get me through school and it's doing that just fine." She said with a grin.
"That's really great, I love to see people who love what they do, who have a passion for something. It just makes me...happy. I'm a great cheerleader." She said, "I love to cheer people on and encourage them to go after their dreams."

"See thats what I need, someone with some optimism and encouragement. When you wanna make music for a living theres a startling lack of that. I try to encourage people, well my brothers, as best I can." There was a silence for a moment "I'm not gonna act like I'm not dipping into the wine.. Though im gonna have to remember to bring my own drink next time, Stuff's kinda gross." There was a small laugh as he thought for a second. "So what are you passionate about.. Besides paper of course."

“There is a lot of negatively in the world, we need more positive people who cheer others on rather than tearing them down. Forget all the naysayers.” She chuckled as he talked about the wine. There was the sound of ice against plastic as she shook her water bottle. “I was lucky and came prepared. Are you a wine connoisseur?” She asked with a lightness in her voice.
“I wouldn’t say I’m passionate about paper.” She said with a giggle. “I’m passionate about people. And relationships. Whether that’s romantic relationships or friendships. I think everyone have value and should have the opportunity to feel that. I’m going to school to get my business degree but I’m not one-hundred percent sure what I’ll do with it just yet.” She admitted

"I think thats a beautiful way to look at things.. and no I am much more a whiskey and rum kinda guy, I will accept champagne however." He gave a small laugh. "I couldn't agree more.. I wish I was more passionate about people, I just got to see a lot of bad in a lot of people.. but I'm still hunting for the good when I can.. Nice to have found some. The ending of that had a lighter tone, maybe a hint of flirting. "Hey, theres no rush to figure out what you're gonna spend your life on.. Life is long.. Have any fun ideas for it though?"

"I try my best to think that people are inherently good. yes, there bad people in the world, but most of the time, not all of the time of course, I have to believe that everyone is just doing their best. Everyone has bad days, even bad weeks or months or years. I don't know what's happened in someone's life and I want to believe that people are doing the best they can. I don't think people want to be bad. Usually. I dunno." She said.
"Well, I figured it would be a really useful track to be on. I could use it to work in a variety of businesses, I could start something of my own if I ever got an exciting idea, or I could use my knowledge to help out my husband if he had something of his own going."

"I like people who think that way. I can totally say I have some stuff in my past I've been judged for but It isn't who I am now by any means, like you said, a bad year happens. People shouldn't be put down because they just slipped and fell." There was a long breath. "That sounds like a really safe plan actually, and in a good way. You've got options and I envy that."

"I feel like that's a pretty defining feature for me." She admitted with a quiet laugh. "I usually take the safe way. Honestly, I surprised myself by even coming here, this doesn't feel like the 'safe way' to do this." She said, laughing again.
"Do you not feel like you have options, Alex?" She asked curiously based on his statement of envying hers.

"Safe isn't bad I don't think. Safe just means that you have options and one wrong move doesnt mean disaster." he gave a thoughtful sigh. "Thats a hard one. I know I do, I'm twenty five so I'm young with options.. But no, I have a job set up as a mechanic if the music career falls through. Sometimes it just feels limited."

"Hmm.. Well the biggest thing I would want is someone is patience. The whole music thing does take time and understanding. I would want someone who gets that and someone who wants to put work into things, I want to build eachother up. The biggest deal breaker...honestly people who are spoiled or judgey and are ok with it? Like I get some people came up better off and sometimes can't really get the level of hardships people go through, but not trying to understand it is just a huge turn off." He cleared his throat awkwardly

"I can absolutely agree with that." Cleo replied encouragingly. "I want someone who I can trust and feel comfortable with. I've been in a bad relationship before and I'm...worried it'll happen again. I don't want..." She took a little anxious breath. "I don't want to feel afraid of the person I love." She said softly, quietly.

"I can kind of guess what you mean by all that..I may look I dunno to some people intimidating, I have some stuff in my past that probably gives people heed..but I would never want my spouse to feel scared of me..I'm literally the guy that wants to bring you cafe food in bed, ya know go grab a muffin and coffee for em. Let them lay on my arm till it's numb.. I want my spouse to feel ontop of the world..not less than." There was a sigh "Look I am by no means a fighter.. I get my ass beat a lot.. but I would take a beating to protect you."

Cleo didn’t answer for a long moment and then there was a little sniff from her side of the pod. “I’m sorry, I don’t mean to get emotional. It’s just...really nice to hear, Alex.” She told him in a shaky, holding back tears voice.
There was a knock at the door and she yelped in surprise and then started to laugh at herself through the tears. “I guess our time is up. This has been really nice.” She told him.
