You arrived yesterday and met all of your suite mates. Today is your first day of dates! This morning your phones were all taken from you and will be returned either when you go home or at the start of stage 3! No social media, no contact with the outside world, just a chance for you to focus on your connections with other people here. (You were told this would be the case when you first signed up to be a participant)
The first round of dates will be relatively quick. You'll get a chance to meet all the ladies/gents. The first dates will last about 10-20 minutes (IC) and the purpose is a short little getting to know you.
Here are some topics you might consider talking about (though it's TOTALLY up to you): General lifestyle (partier/works a lot/spends most time at home alone) Occupation Hopes for this event/what you're looking for in a spouse Hobbies/Passions
RULES - Remember to keep physical descriptions out of your conversations. - Each person gets only 10 posts in this thread! - Posts are limited to 150 words! The idea is to give your characters a little taste but leave them wanting MORE!
Will you start to make a connection today? Let's find out!
This date is for Cleo Saintclair & Blake Carson!
You enter the pods, one person on each side in a soundproofed room. This allows you to feel totally secluded and private from the other participants who may be near you. This is your chance to get a feel for the women/men who are here and who you might be interested in continuing to get to know!

Cleo stepped into the room, walking over to the softly glowing wall between the two connected pods. She took a soft breath before speaking. "Hi?" She hoped he was there already. "I'm Cleo." She introduced herself.

Blake was already in the room when his date entered. "Hi!" He called in greeting after hearing her. "Hi Cleo I'm Blake! How's your day been so far?" He asked her.

Cleo settled down on the couch, the sound of the fabric could be heard beneath her. "Hi Blake." She replied. "It's going pretty well, nerve wracking." She said with a little nervous, girlish laugh. "Yours?" She asked. "Sorry, I feel weird." She admitted. "I know we don't have long. Um...what brought you here, Blake?"

“That’s good! I think everyone’s a bit nervous, I am too even if I don’t sound like it.” He chuckled. “Well if you feel tooooo weird let me know. I am a doctor, wouldn’t want anything too serious happening now.” He said. “My days going pretty good. I’m trying to scramble and write things down as fast as you ladies tell info to me, but I gotta admit. It’s a bit overwhelming.” He let a sigh out. “Honestly? I want a best friend and someone that wants a family. Haven’t met the right lady yet, so I’m hoping I’ve met her today.”

“Well at least I’m not alone in the nervous department then.” She answered. “What kind of doctor are you?” She asked. “And are you done with training or still in the thick of it?”
There was a pause as she listened. “I’m hoping that meeting people this way will create something more real than what I’ve seen in the past. I want to find someone I can support and cheer on. So, how many kids do you want?” She asked, feeling comfortable.

"I'm a resident Trauma Doc. So technically yes, I'm still in training." He laughed. "I'm still an apprentice doctor, not yet master level."
"Yeah I'm definitely looking for an emotional connection too. Some of my past relationships didn't have that connection I was going for." He added. "Oh man, How many kids do you think I'd be allowed to get away with?" He asked chuckling. "I've always wanted to be dad, it's like...One of my biggest dreams. So however many she wants I'm good with, but I know I want at least one. Maybe two....maybe three..." He chuckled. "What about you? Do you want any kids?"

She laughed. "Master level, I like that." She said with another chuckle. "How many more years left until you're done with your residency?" She asked.
"Aww," She said sweetly when he said it was one of his biggest dreams to be a dad. "I don't hear that a lot from men, I love that so much. There is nothing like a man who truly loves being a dad. I would absolutely love to have kids, I've known I wanted to be a mom for...as long as I can remember. I'm...still undecided on how many. Definitely more than one. Maybe as many as four...? It depends on timing and my husband and how my body handles it, and just how life goes I guess." She said.
"So, I know you must be really busy with your residency, but what do you like to do when you get time off?"

"Well, I just started my first resident year a year ago, so I got about three more to go, if not a little more." He said.
"All very good and reasonable things." He laughed. "Definitly a joint decision on how many kids your both willing to have. Life is also something to take into consideration."
"In my time off I like to garden. Like, I'm really into it." He laughed. "I grow my own Herbs and vegetables and then I turn around and like to cook with them too. So I save a lot on fresh veggies. I do a bit of canning too, like I make my own pickles, and then sometimes I fry them, which is really good, or-" He stopped himself and laughed. "Sorry, I'll keep talking if you let me about food." He laughed some more. "What do you like to do?"

"So close, yet so far. I'm sure it's challenging, but hopefully a rewarding career path too?" She asked.
"Do you really?!" She asked when he explained what he did. "No way! That's so cool!" She paused. "Ooo, ouch, my foot is falling asleep." She said with a little laugh. "I'm gonna move down to the floor with this pillow." There was the sound of shifting for a second closer to the wall.
"Okay sorry. Seriously though, that's so cool. Effective, self reliant, rewarding, just plain, well...awesome." She said. "And I love food so you can talk about it all day, though I may get hungry. I love to cook too, I like to try new recipes, even if it usually takes me twice as long as it's estimated too." She admitted with a little laugh.
"I also go on walks, play volleyball, watch movies, probably too much tv."

"It most certainly is. I can't explain it, but knowing you helped someone live another day is like...The biggest high or adrenaline rush you will ever it." said.
"Careful there, don't cut off that circulation." He laughed. "You do that, and I'll join you." He slid down to the ground and put his back against the sofa before taking a sip of his drink. "Wait you do?!" He asked, nearly choking on his drink. "Giiiirrrrrl, we're gonna have to exchange recipes then. I love experimental cooking. I sometimes give myself chopped challenges just to see what I can make." He said. "I don't watch much TV, but I do watch Netflix when I can. Most of the time its FRIENDS reruns or the Office. I also like to go on walks or ride with my longboard, with my helmet of course, and cruise around."

“Yessss! Come join me!” She said as he moved down to the floor as well.
“Oh I loved Chopped! I’ve considered trying to challenge myself before but I always chicken out. I’m not sure I’m that creative just yet. But I’m all for exchanging recipes!” She said enthusiastically. “I love both Friends and The Office. I get a lot of Office related jokes at me actually. I work as a secretary at a Paper Company.” She told him with a little laugh.
“Longboarding looks fun, I’ve never got up the nerve to try it though. Maybe you’ll have to teach me someday.” She said.

"No way, that's hilarious." He laughed. "So, Something me and some of my coworkers like to do, is we pretend there's camera's around, ya know like how there's one watching us right now?, and if something office worthy happens, we'll stare at each other like this," He moved his head to where he thought the camera was and stared at it with his best Dwight Impersonation. "You didn't actually see it, but I just did Dwight Schrute proud." He chuckled. "It's a fun joke we do with each other."
"I can! I even come with bandaides and you fall off. Though I'm hoping I'll be able to catch you before you fall on your ass." He said in a flirty tone.

Cleo busted into a fit of giggles. “Well now I really want to see what face you just made.” She said laughing. “That’s amazing! I wish my coworkers were that amusing. Half of them don’t even understand the references I make. Such a disappointment.” She said with mock disapproval while so continued to laugh at the image of his story.
“Well I’d definitely prefer it if you caught me first too, I need some sure and strong hands to have my back....side.” She said, returning there flirtation with an added laugh.

"They're all really great." He smiled. "Of course! There will be no busted asses on my watch." He said sternly. "So volleyball huh? We talking beach volleyball or in the gym volleyball?" He asked curiously. "I didn't play sports in school, but I've always wondered it would be like. What makes you like volleyball?"

"Both. I was on my high school team, that was all gym volleyball of course but I've done sand for fun. I haven't played in a while actually, I don't play at my college or anything but I get together with couple of friends when I go home to visit my family in Sacrament and we get together and play." She explained.
"I...don't know that I can explain why I like it. It's a fun team game, not overly dangerous." she said with a little chuckle. "I guess sometimes it just feels nice to hit something...with purpose." She laughed again.

Blake chuckled. "I can imagine, I use to hit drums." He laughed. "Sometimes you just gotta hit something without the worry about possible consequences." He said. "That sounds fun though, Do you guys do like a picnic thing? Where you pack lunch and then head off to play and come back and eat? It sounds like a really nice family outing."
"Speaking of Fam, are you really close with yours?" He asked curiously.

"Usually we play and then hit up some fast food place, telling ourselves we've earned it by exercising." She said with a little laugh. "Oh man, I love picnics though. I haven't had a picnic in years."
"I am close with my family, ya. I'm the oldest of three, my siblings are actually only half siblings, though I don't think of them that way. They both are still at home. I don't know who my real mom is or much about her, but my step mom is my mom. It's hard to be away from them so much since starting school but I'm getting used to it." She said.
"What about your family?" She asked.
"And since we're running low on time...um...tell me are the qualities you want in your dream wife?" She added.

"I don't want to sound like a poor unfortunate soul but," He chuckled a bit nervously. "I don't have one. I was a ward to the state of California pretty much my whole life. From what my caseworker told me, my mom willingly put me in the system but also didn't want anyone to be able to adopt me so it got really complicated and I couldn't be adopted. I jumped around from place to place pretty much my whole life. But when I finally became an adult I decided enough moving, and put my roots in San Diego." He explained. "That's sort of my reason why I want to be a dad so much." He confessed.
"She's gotta love to eat, or cook," He laughed. "Understanding, fun, Needs to want kids. I'm pretty much looking for my best friend."

"Aww." Cleo said with a sad little sound. "That's...heartbreaking. I can only imagine how that would influence what you want for your family and children." She made another cute sad noise in thought before he continued.
"Well, not to but brag or anything." She said with a soft laugh. "But I think I meet those sorts of qualifications..." She trailed off.
"Well, now that I've probably put myself out there too much...I guess it looks like we're out time, which is a bummer. But I, well, I really liked talking to you Blake. I hope we get the chance to meet again?"
