You arrived yesterday and met all of your suite mates. Today is your first day of dates! This morning your phones were all taken from you and will be returned either when you go home or at the start of stage 3! No social media, no contact with the outside world, just a chance for you to focus on your connections with other people here. (You were told this would be the case when you first signed up to be a participant)
The first round of dates will be relatively quick. You'll get a chance to meet all the ladies/gents. The first dates will last about 10-20 minutes (IC) and the purpose is a short little getting to know you.
Here are some topics you might consider talking about (though it's TOTALLY up to you):
General lifestyle (partier/works a lot/spends most time at home alone)
Occupation
Hopes for this event/what you're looking for in a spouse
Hobbies/Passions

"Hello?" Cleo said towards the wall connecting the two pods. "I'm Cleo. I'm a secretary at a paper company while I go to school for business. I love volleyball and books and close friends and...talking." She said. "Can you tell I've been doing this all day?" She asked a little shyly.

"Hey Cleo, I'm Percy. Yeah it's been a pretty long day and it's kinda crazy for an introvert like me," Percy's voice was soft and gentle, just like his demeanor. "Well I'm glad you like talking because I like listening and you've got a pretty voice to listen to.

“Aww, thank you.” Cleo said, pleasure in her voice. “It’s been easy for me either. I’m somewhere between and introvert and an extrovert. I like spending time with close friends but starting new relationships and friendships is the hard part for sure.” She told him.

"Well I gets we've been really put somewhere we have to make some connections quickly," Percy said with a laugh, "Well I guess my favorite is being asked about my cats, because I like talking about my cats. I have seven, yes they're super fluffy. They're mostly also, well people think they're broken but I think they're perfect. They're just missing a few parts but they're still whole cats to love. What's your favorite question so far?

"Aww!" Cleo exclaimed. "Seven cats? That's amazing! What are their names?" She couldn't help but ask. "Did you start out thinking 'I want seven cats', or did it just turn out that way?"
"Um...someone asked me 'if you could have any one thing in front of you right now, what would it be?'" She said. "I said food then, I still say food, but right now I'm currently a freshly baked loaf of sourdough bread, toasted with melted butter on it." She said with a little laugh. "you?"

"Eloise, Tripod, Misa, Captain, Muffins, Rowena, and Cedric. Ok so it started with "I want a cat" so I got a maine coon named Eloise and then that Eloise was lonely so I got a second cat, Tripod, and the next thing I knew I had five cats and I was like "no more cats, five is enough" but then my grandfather passed and left me his house and two more cats so now I have seven cats. And before you call me a crazy cat man, I prefer crazy cat lord because you women get to be ladies, I want to be a lord," Percy said with a chuckle. "Ooo you're making me hungry. I'd want my cats and if I had to pick one cat, it would be Captain because he loves strangers the most."

Cleo giggled. "Alright then, My Lord." She said with a grin. "I shall curtsy to your kitty-cat greatness." She giggled again.
"A maine coon?! Really? Aren't they like pretty big cats? Sorry, I don't know a ton about cats, just that I love them and want to snuggle them all." She said. "Well maybe I'll get the chance to meet Captain someday then." She said.
"Alright, so outside of your cats, what is it that you do Percy? For fun? For work? All that?"

"The coons are monsters, they're about 25 lbs each," Percy said with a laugh. "I have a king sized bed and I find myself squeezed in a corner half the time because they take so much bloody space"
"So work and fun are pretty much the same thing, I'm a violinist and songwriter so I spend a lot of time doing that," he paused, "and I love dancing, but not in public, in my kitchen in the middle of the night or while making tea in the morning. What about you Cleo?"

Cleo giggled at he spoke about his cats taking up his king sized bed.
"That sounds like a fun career! It's awesome that you get to do what you love. I do have a think for hearing a violin in a song, it always catches my attention and makes me love it all the more. So would you dance in front of your wife or would hide your mad dancing skills?" she asked playfully.
"I'm working a secretary right now while I go to school to get my business degree. I'm not sure what I'll do with that just yet though. I love to be around people with passion, I'm a great cheerleader for people's dreams. I enjoy being out in the sunshine and I love playing volleyball too. I like spending time with people I care about."

"In an ideal world, my wife would be dancing with me," Percy knew that answer instantly, "Ummm so I took ballet lessons for 10 years, I could like teach her or just dance because it's the base of a lot of dance. It wouldn't be like that bump and grind stuff." He always felt vulnerable when he shared about the ballet stuff, and sounded pretty nervous.
"That's really cool, I think you'll figure out what your dream is and then use your degree or not use your degree," Percy said. "I actually dropped out of college, I had three semesters left."

Percy laughed, "I aim to please, and honestly that's how I'd want it, add a nice fire and a dinner better than what I can cook, and I'd call it a perfect night." Then he laughed again, "You know, what's really funny is that I actually work in my field of study. I went to Berklee, one of the best music schools in the world for violin and I dropped out to go do an artist residency in Italy for a year. I said I was going to go back, but I just didn't."

"Oh okay, my bad for assuming it was an off topic field of study. You lived in Italy for a year?! That must have been incredible! What part of Italy were you in? Gosh, I've always wanted to go there. Did you learn to speak Italian at all?" She asked.

"Sounds like a date, too bad we can't really do any of that while we're stuck in a pod. I like to cook too, but I'm not super into it or fancy or anything," Percy said, "Don't worry, a lot of people leave the fields of their degrees, for me it's just something I always knew I was going to do." he mused.
"Italy was great, there's so much music and culture there, I got to tour a little bit of Europe while I was there too, like on weekends and stuff," Percy said. He paused, "La vita è come fotografia, se sorridi, viene meglio."

Percy laughed, "Oh I said, "life is like a photograph, if you smile it's better" it's something we said a lot when we were deciding between going into the practice room or going sightseeing on the weekend." He paused and laughed again, "So I have a pretty funny secret, but you have to promise you won't totally judge me for it. So let's play a game. Promise to not judge, what's three kinda embarrassing facts about yourself?"

"Aww, I like that, very nice saying." She said with a little laugh.
"Okay, I promise I won't judge you." She said with a nervous giggle. "Okay, um, let's see..." she paused thinking. "Okay, one- people often assume I'm younger than I am, I have perpetual 'baby face' and it's really annoying." She said with a little laugh. "I'm twenty-three for the record. Two...I'm terrified of conflict, I kind of cower when things start to get tense and people start fighting or arguing, even if I'm not involved. And three...um...oh, I accidentally stole some paper clips from work once and I felt guilty all weekend until I finally replaced them on Monday." She laughed a little at herself.
"Okay, now you have to tell me your secret."

"What a rebel, tsk tsk on those poor paperclips, I hope you really needed them for some papers that... really needed clipping," Percy said as seriously as he could, before laughing.
"Ok so I'm totally blushing as I admit all this. I first learned Italian in high school to impress girls, and it happily came in handy when I went to Italy. I took ballet lessons for ten years, and I loved every moment of it, but most people think that's kinda weird," Percy said with a shy laugh. "Oh and I have seven cats, they're really awesome and no I'm not crazy for it, at least I don't think so."

Cleo laughed with him, "I know, I know it's silly." She admitted.
"Well, I have to admit that learning Italian paid off, you've at least impressed one girl. Good call. And I think both your ballet lessons and your cats have helped in that regard as well." She told him with a little giggle. "And I'm definitely blushing too." She admitted.
She yelped softly when a knock came to the door. "Oh, I guess we're out of time. I wasn't even paying attention. Well, this was really fun Percy. Maybe we can 'see' each other again eventually?" She suggested shyly. She'd wait for him to answer before being whisked out of the pod.
