You arrived yesterday and met all of your suite mates. Today is your first day of dates! This morning your phones were all taken from you and will be returned either when you go home or at the start of stage 3! No social media, no contact with the outside world, just a chance for you to focus on your connections with other people here. (You were told this would be the case when you first signed up to be a participant)
The first round of dates will be relatively quick. You'll get a chance to meet all the ladies/gents. The first dates will last about 10-20 minutes (IC) and the purpose is a short little getting to know you.
Here are some topics you might consider talking about (though it's TOTALLY up to you): General lifestyle (partier/works a lot/spends most time at home alone) Occupation Hopes for this event/what you're looking for in a spouse Hobbies/Passions
RULES - Remember to keep physical descriptions out of your conversations. - Each person gets only 10 posts in this thread! - Posts are limited to 150 words! The idea is to give your characters a little taste but leave them wanting MORE!
Will you start to make a connection today? Let's find out!
This date is for Cleo Saintclair & Trout Latimer!
You enter the pods, one person on each side in a soundproofed room. This allows you to feel totally secluded and private from the other participants who may be near you. This is your chance to get a feel for the women/men who are here and who you might be interested in continuing to get to know!

Cleo entered and scanned the snacks briefly as did so, the sound of a wrapper heard as she opened a piece of candy. "Hello?" She asked. "I'm Cleo." She introduced herself. Waiting until there was a reply before moving on. "I hope this started to get easier as we go on." She said with a little chuckle as she sat down on the couch. "So, if you could go anywhere in the world on vacation where would you go?" Trout Latimer

"Hey Cleo, I'm Trout." He started to ask a question, but stopped when she spoke up first. "I dunno, I think I'll be pretty nervous every time. But uh, for a vacation, I think I'd want to go to New York or Japan. New York for the museum's and stuff, Japan for the culture. New York is probably more my budget, though."

"I'm nervous too." She admitted to Trout. "Both of those sound cool, though I feel like I'd be pretty anxious in highly populated places like that, New York I could manage and I guess it depends on what part of Japan. I'm not sure I could ever visit somewhere like certain parts of China or India. Too many people."

"Oooh yeah, I can't argue with you there. Maybe we could do, like one of the quiet towns in Japan, and stay at a traditional inn with hot springs and stuff. That could be neat. What about you, are there specific spots you'd like to visit?"

“Oh that sounds amazing! I love hot springs! And hot tubs! It’s a very relaxing and intimate way to have fun. I’d love to travel to Ireland, Greenland, Iceland...all the ‘lands’ apparently.” She said with a laugh. “Or maybe I’ll go to New Zealand and follow the Lord of the Rings trail to Mordor.” She joked.

Ok I didn't know that was a thing but I'd totally go on a trail to Mordor, although it would be my first hike, pretty much ever. Are you an outdoors kind of person?

She laughed. "I think it's a thing. I've heard of it but never looked it up or anything." She said.
"I like being outside but not usually to do anything too strenuous. I like playing volleyball and running but that's usually the most strenuous thing I'll do outside. I've been camping, but it's not my most favorite thing. I'd rather go for the experience of being outside and looking at the stars and roasting s'mores, and then going home to sleep in my own bed." She said with a little chuckle.
"What about you? What do you like to do?" She asked.

"Well first of all you just described the only camping trip I would ever willingly go on. That sounds perfect, especially if I can put double chocolate on my smores." He chuckled. "But yeah, I run like once or twice a week so that I stay decently healthy too. What I actually enjoy doing is video games--I mainly play Assassin's Creed, and then I've been playing Overwatch with friends. I also like Dungeons and Dragons which is...not a video game." He laughed a bit awkwardly this time. "I don't know if you know anything about it...?"

"Oh, I'd get in on those double chocolate s'mores." She said joyfully. "I'm terrible at video games but I have nothing against them, I do enjoy relaxing and watching people play. I have definitely heard of Dungeons and Dragons! I have played a couple of times even but it never lasted for a long campaign. I had a great time though and would love to play again. Do you like to be the, um, what's it called, the person who runs the game? Or do you just like to play? Do you have like one character that you play consistently?" She asked curiously.

"Hey sounds good to me. If we make it that far, you and me are making smores with insane amounts of chocolate.
"I'm glad you had fun with D&D, though, it's such a cool game. Every person's experience is a little different, and each Dungeon Master--or DM, that's the thing you were thinking of--They have their own style too. My best friend Travis likes to DM for our games. He's a History buff, so he puts a sh--crapload of attention into like, all the different countries and their political factions. He's also good at accents, so it's pretty funny watching him do the different voices for the people we run into. I usually have one character for a campaign, so that's like, one story line, although it might take multiple sessions. Right now I'm playing a human paladin who wants to save his hometown from an invading evil emperor."

"A DM! That's right! I couldn't think of it." She said with a little laugh. "Well that sounds like a ton of fun! I bet it's great to play with someone who DMs so well. I'm sure that makes all the difference. And your character sounds pretty cool too." She told him.
"So what is it that you do for a living?" She asked curiously.

"Oh! I'm a web developer. Basically, the grocery chain that I work for has a website and an app, so whenever they want to add new features or change the layout, I'm the guy who actually builds what they've designed. So I do a bunch of coding and bug fixes and stuff. It sounds pretty boring, but I like the work, and the people I work with are pretty great. I've always liked computers and coding languages, so it's a natural fit."
What about you, Cleo?"

"Oh wow, that sounds really awesome! I would have no idea where to even begin with all of that. I think coders are really impressive." She told him. "I'm currently just working as a secretary at a paper company while I go to school to get my business degree." She explained. "Your job sounds way less boring than mine." She said with a little laugh.

Trout chuckled. "Yeah ok, I think maybe you've got me beat. But, hey, working on a degree is great! What would you like to do with your business degree? You wanna be like, an entrepreneur and start your own business? Or are you wanting to move up at the paper company where you work now?" He asked. "What's the dream?"

“Actually I’m not totally sure yet.” Cleo admitted guilty. “I was interested in the subject and figured I could use it in a lot of ways. Maybe I’ll use it for own business, maybe I’ll use my skills to help out my husband?” She laughed a little awkwardly.
“Is that totally lame?”

"Nah, makes sense to me. Honestly, it seems like the degree you have only matters in technical fields. If you're in like, a normal business field, the experience you have, paired with a degree in pretty much whatever, can get you a lot of places. So I think you're on the right track to take yourself wherever.
"Ok, so the business degree isn't what you're super into. What's like, your absolute favorite thing to do?"

“Oh, well thank you.” Cleo said softly.
“My most favorite thing to do...is being with the people I care about, spending time with them and playing games and chatting and laughing. People is my favorite thing to do...” she paused and then laughed. “That came out wrong.”

Trout chuckled. "Nah, you're good, it made total sense. You're saying that you don't care so much what you're doing, as long as it's with the right people, huh?"
"I think I'm kind of the same way. If I'm with good friends, then we can make just about anything fun, just by goofing around. I thi--" He cut off and swore under his breath. "Hey, we're running low on time. Uh, is there anything specific you want to know before we have to go? I promise I'll answer honestly.

"Oh really? That went by fast. It's been fun to chat with you." Cleo said. "Um, let's see. What is the number one thing you're looking for in a wife? And what is one thing that absolutely won't work for you?" She asked.
