You arrived yesterday and met all of your suite mates. Today is your first day of dates! This morning your phones were all taken from you and will be returned either when you go home or at the start of stage 3! No social media, no contact with the outside world, just a chance for you to focus on your connections with other people here. (You were told this would be the case when you first signed up to be a participant)
The first round of dates will be relatively quick. You'll get a chance to meet all the ladies/gents. The first dates will last about 10-20 minutes (IC) and the purpose is a short little getting to know you.
Here are some topics you might consider talking about (though it's TOTALLY up to you): General lifestyle (partier/works a lot/spends most time at home alone) Occupation Hopes for this event/what you're looking for in a spouse Hobbies/Passions
RULES - Remember to keep physical descriptions out of your conversations. - Each person gets only 10 posts in this thread! - Posts are limited to 150 words! The idea is to give your characters a little taste but leave them wanting MORE!
Will you start to make a connection today? Let's find out!
This date is for Lainey Yurkovich & Parker Domino!
You enter the pods, one person on each side in a soundproofed room. This allows you to feel totally secluded and private from the other participants who may be near you. This is your chance to get a feel for the women/men who are here and who you might be interested in continuing to get to know!

"The amount of snacks stocked over here is unreal. What about your side? What's your go to snack food?" Parker asked, it was the first thing that popped into his head as he munched on some cool ranch Doritos.

"I know right? None of us have to worry about going hungry!" Lainey responded with a small laugh to the voice she heard. "Hmmmm I gotta say I got several, but I'm a sucker for sour cream and onion chips. I'm a lost cause if they come in the pringle variety. Which I see they have!" She laughed a bit as she grabbed the small canister. "I'm Elaine, But only my mother calls me that, so please call me Lainey." She introduced herself. "What are you snacking on?"

"Hey Lainey, I'm Parker and everyone calls me... Parker and I've got cool ranch doritos because I ate the hot cheetos last round." Parker said. "This isn't really my idea of a romantic dinner date, but here we are, in a pod with chips." He hoped his joke would actually sound like a joke.
"So Lainey, what would a perfect date be in your opinion?"

Lainey chuckled at Parker's joke. "Hhmmmm perfect date.... That's a tough one. I'd have to say April 25th. Because it's not too hot, not too cold, all you need is a light jacket.” She waited to see if he would get the reference she was making and if not would explain it was one of her favorite quotes from a movie. "Honestly? Walk down by the bay with my dog, a taco truck, maybe taking a hike, and then getting fat off a tub of ice cream while watching a movie." She confessed.

"Ok so I know that's a Mean Girls quote, but I can't say I've ever actually seen the movie. I just know the memes. But that sounds like a pretty solid day, I love hiking and that sounds pretty chill. I like it." Parker said. "What's your favorite type of ice cream? I'm a huge rocky road fan."

"Correction my friend, That's a Miss Congeniality Quote." She corrected him. "Has one kick-ass Sandra Bullock in it. Came out long before Regina George." She chuckled. "Anything Chocolate and I have a weakness for mint chocolate chip," She told him. "What do you Parker?"

"Ok I'm totaly facepalming on the other side of the glass here and I'm kinda glad you can't see me doing it," Parker said with an attempt to laugh it off. "That's what I get for not watching enough movies. I'm actually just not really a big movie person, more of a documentary person."
"oh work? I'm a travel blogger, so I just run around the world and find interesting stories to tell. I really love it."

Lainey chuckled. “Documentary’s are cool!! I’m actually a big crime show fan myself. My sisters forced me into submission with watching chick flicks growing up.” She said. “Travel Blogger? Now you sound like a man who might have some fun stories to tell!“ She laughed. “That sounds super cool! And a new adventure everytme? Aaaaaaah how do you do It? Like how do you afford to travel all the time? And how does travel blogging become a job?” She asked. Genuinely wanting to know.

"Well I'm glad my sister never subjected me to that, she's not exactly the girly girl type. She was really popular but also she's freakishly smart." Parker said. "Traveling is my job now, so I get paid to do it these days. I used to be an architect at a really big firm but I started blogging in college while studying abroad in Japan. Then I decided that writing and finding stories about buildings was more fun than designing them so I quit my job to blog full time. Resorts and adventure attractions hire me to make content sometimes but also I make some money off the ads on my blog and videos and stuff. It's not as cushy as my old life but I don't really need cushy."
"So have you been anywhere super coo.?"

“One of my sisters is also freakishly smart. I’m the Tom boy out of my sisters.”She said. “Man that Sounds like Heaven. I’d love to travel if I could find the time too. I have quite the extensive “must visit” list.”
“Sometimes honestly that’s all you really need. Whatever makes you happy is my go to motto.”
“I’ve never really been anywhere super coo unless you count my last family vacation to the Hoover Dam when I was like, 12. We couldn’t afford to travel much, and when I got out of school I was too busy trying to work and make a living to vacation. I think my last vacation was me and Dug going to the Oregon coast for a few days.”

"I haven't been to the Hoover Dam yet, that sounds pretty cool, what's it like?" Parker asked. "And my list of places to go is endless, but I have a feeling that I'll see all of it. I'm only 25 so I've got plenty of time to do it and enjoy everywhere I'm at without worrying about the next place. I went to Oregon last year to do a piece about the history of coffee culture there. I wasn't a big coffee drinker until then. Who's Dug? Please tell me he's like the dog from Up or something! I love the movie."

"It's super high up and you definitely don't want to fall over the safety barriers." She laughed. "It's also built right on the border of Arizona and Nevada, so you can also know what it feels like to be in two places at once if you wish. It was pretty cool, or at least as cool as 12 year old me thought it was."
"Nice! I hear they have a lot of cool things up there to do if you know where to look." She laughed.
"Yes!!!! He is, so I literally own the real-life version of Dug. I'm not even kidding. I watched it right after I got him, and he was super into it, and then his behavior just reminded me of him. I could not, not name him that. I will also talk your ear off about my dog if you let me." She laughed.

"Have you ever been to the four corners? It's the corner where you can stand in four states at once. I passed by there a couple times but didn't have time to stop for a selfie," Parker said, "I think it's somewhere I want to go sometime. Also your dog sounds incredible. Do you take him hiking and stuff or is he like a big snuggle pillow for Netflix nights? He sounds like the goodest boy."

"I haven't, the farthest I've been from home was when we all flew out to Boston for my bubbe's funeral when I was ten." She laughed. "It sounds pretty cool though!"
"Yessss, Dug is the goodest boy. I try to take him everywhere with me when I can, so he goes on lots of walks and runs, we go on hikes, play at the dog park, and then we come home and crash on the sofa and we cuddle while watching crime shows." She said. "He's positively spoiled rotten. I'm really missing him right now, but he's in good hands while he vacations with his uncle Lyle."

"Oh I love Boston! My sister goes to school there, instead of her coming home for breaks, sometimes I just go visit her because it's such a cool town," Parker said, "So earlier you said you have a must visit list, what are some places on that list?"

"I've only been the one time. My parents don't really have anything to do with their families anymore because true love trumps all, blah blah." She laughed. "Yes! So, I've always wanted to visit Ireland. My mom used to tell us stories her grandad told her when he lived there, so I definitely want to visit some family heritage spots. Oktoberfest is also on my lest. Less so for the beer, but for the food and the cultural aspect. Then there's all of Italy, I want to see Nice France, want to go turn into a lobster in Bali, all that good stuff." She explained. "Honestly, I just want to travel the world. I've been pretty stuck in San Diego. Wanna see what else is out there ya know?"

"Sounds harsh, but it sounds like they're happy that way. My family is pretty chill, they just want me to actually get married," Parker said with a laugh, "They used to be pickier about my girlfriends and stuff, but now it's like "come on Parker, hurry up" and I'm like "Jesus, mom I'm 25! And of course my little sister has zero pressure because she's getting her second degree at Harvard."
"Ireland is really awesome in the fall, you get this really nice cool breeze. Italy I've only done the tourist stuff, but I want to go back really bad because I haven't been to Venice yet. I have a feeling that Bali would be your favorite, it kinda just fits your energy," Parker said, a bit of a smile at the end.

"Eh, they moved to the west coast before any of us kids were born. Mom and dad weren't bothered by it so we weren't. And if they were, they didn't show it." She said. "Same! My mom keeps asking because my oldest sister is already married, and we keep waiting for my other sister's boyfriend to propose. You'd think because she already has a grandbaby she'd be content, but nope." She sighed. "Elaine when are you going to think about settling down? I don't like you living by yourself, blah blah blah" She impersonated her mother for a moment.
"What is your sister getting her degree in?" She asked curiously. "Bali huh? And what is my energy like Mr. Travel Blogger?" She asked with a flirty tone.

Parker laughed, "So how do you think your parents are going to feel if you go home to tell them you're getting married? Mine would probably just throw me a stupid big engagement party and make me wear a suit for way longer than I want to. Apparently I have to get married because my sister is too busy becoming a neurosurgeon so she's excused," he said. "Hmmm your vibe, airy, high energy, hot," He said with a chuckle. "Bali is a place that's hot and spicy, but also has the most amazing beaches so it's also a great place to relax and be at peace with the world as long as the monkies don't steal your sandwiches," he said, dreaming of his last trip to Bali.
