You arrived yesterday and met all of your suite mates. Today is your first day of dates! This morning your phones were all taken from you and will be returned either when you go home or at the start of stage 3! No social media, no contact with the outside world, just a chance for you to focus on your connections with other people here. (You were told this would be the case when you first signed up to be a participant)
The first round of dates will be relatively quick. You'll get a chance to meet all the ladies/gents. The first dates will last about 10-20 minutes (IC) and the purpose is a short little getting to know you.
Here are some topics you might consider talking about (though it's TOTALLY up to you):
General lifestyle (partier/works a lot/spends most time at home alone)
Occupation
Hopes for this event/what you're looking for in a spouse
Hobbies/Passions

- Remember to keep physical descriptions out of your conversations.

- Posts are limited to 150 words! The idea is to give your characters a little taste but leave them wanting MORE!

"Hm, I like both but I'm more of a cat person. I've got an older cat named Hades. I adopted him from a shelter a few years ago. Do you have a dog already?" She paused then added in a rush, "Oh, I'm River by the way. I'm a librarian."

"Cats are cool too, I actually don't have any pets right now but I want to get one soon, Living alone is well.. lonely. Love the name though, what kinda cat is he?" There was a gentleness to the tone, this was a conversation he could get into. "Ok I was not expecting librarian but that is actually really cool, got a favorite book?"

"Well, I named him Hades because he's all black except a light spot on his heart. I agree about living alone, though. I'm not much for crowds, but it does get a little too quiet sometimes." River answered slowly, thoughtful. "And yeah! The Odyssey is my favorite of all time. I really love epics, and greek mythology is my favorite. But I love to read just about anything I can get my hands on. What about you?"

"Ok he sounds like a pretty cool cat.. Ha. He gave a sharp chuckle at his own joke. He thought he was funny. "I deal with crowds at work, when I'm home I like to step away from all that, no bars or clubs."
"I like fantasy books I wont lie..But I like the Catcher in the Rye. If I had to pick an all time favorite that would be it. I don't get too much time to read but when I can sneak it I love it.

"...Did you just throw down a Doctor Who ref? Because I've been trying not to make one all date and there you went and did it." He laughed. "Mostly performing but I'm working with two of my brothers to actually record a few things and put some stuff out there. He has a friend who will let us use his studio, a drummer and an extra guitarist was needed."

River laughed. "If I did, it was actually by accident. I'm about to expose myself as an even bigger nerd: I was thinking of a woman who wrote a series of letters about being a woman scholar. She called herself "a thief of time" because all the time she had to herself was stolen time between taking care of her children, or late at night when they went to sleep. The phrase has stuck with me ever since I read that in one of my college classes. I feel like a lot of us are 'stealing time' to use for the things we really care about. It's nice to be meeting some people today who are doing what they're really passionate about, like you, even when it isn't always easy to make it work!

"Ok thats actually even more cool.. The stealing time thing does really feel kind of apt some days.. The thing I was thinking of is theres a character called River Song. Shes this fearless bold and beautiful woman who's actually the Doctors wife, she was the first time thief that came to mind..and the comparison in character is totally there." He let out a small chuckle.
"A lot of alt rock and just plain out rock..though I will cop to some pop punk.. I like stuff that makes my blood pump. What sort of music do you like?"

"I mostly listen to like...indie stuff, I think it would technically be? I'm not really sure what to call it. Like, um, Judah and the Lion, and Hozier, and Strumbellas...Things with nice vocals, usually. But I'm okay with just about anything that isn't like...heavy metal or extreme rap, those ones are just my favorites. She sounded a bit uncertain of herself as she answered.
"I like the comparison to River Song, though! That's a lovely name, and she sounds like a well-written character. I've only seen a little of Doctor Who, but maybe I'll have to go back and watch the seasons with her in it!"

"Hey I actually love Hozier, arsonists lullaby is one of my favorite songs. I like some Gregory and the hawke too, indie is good. I like a weird variety of stuff. We could at least bond over some cool music." There was a laugh from his side.
"She's a good character, very independent and strong. I'm like a background character. So what are some shows you do like? Gotta know what the tv movie slash movie night binge is. I have this silly little dream of just cuddling up with someobe I love with either some fast food or delivery and watching tv till we pass out. It sounds lazy I know."
