You arrived yesterday and met all of your suite mates. Today is your first day of dates! This morning your phones were all taken from you and will be returned either when you go home or at the start of stage 3! No social media, no contact with the outside world, just a chance for you to focus on your connections with other people here. (You were told this would be the case when you first signed up to be a participant)
The first round of dates will be relatively quick. You'll get a chance to meet all the ladies/gents. The first dates will last about 10-20 minutes (IC) and the purpose is a short little getting to know you.
Here are some topics you might consider talking about (though it's TOTALLY up to you):
General lifestyle (partier/works a lot/spends most time at home alone)
Occupation
Hopes for this event/what you're looking for in a spouse
Hobbies/Passions

- Posts are limited to 150 words! The idea is to give your characters a little taste but leave them wanting MORE!

"I did not think to bring snacks," she chuckled. "My name is actually the scientific name of an endangered specie of butterfly. My mom was a bit obsessed. I grew up in Orange County actually, closer to LA. I moved here after I got my bachelor's."

Dean laughed. "Oh there's a little snack basket in here. Is there not one there? These are just classic Doritos. Fritos are my favorite but there aren't any in here." He said with a little chuckle. "So, a butterfly, huh? Well that's pretty awesome. I'll have to look up that butterfly when I get a chance...since I don't have my phone...I'll have to get creative I guess." he said with smile in his voice. "So what did you get your bachelor's in, Speyeria?" He asked, saying her name in a flirty tone with a rolling R.

She chuckled at the way he said her name. "I have a bachelor's in agriculture with a minor in game design. They have nothing in common but I enjoy both of them. What do you do for fun?"

"Very nice, very nice." He said approvingly. "Surfing is my go to, I've been surfing since I was a kid. I like people and parties and loud music. I'm definitely a social guy. And you? Do you have a lot of free time?" He asked.

"It's not for everyone, I'm sure I'll get tired of it eventually, right now I'm just trying to soak in as much as I can before I get too old to be able to enjoy it." He said with a little laugh.
"I do play some games, depends on what you mean by games? Board games? Card games? Video games? Sports games?" He asked. "Love games." he added as a joke.

"I do like board games, but video games are more my speed. I only stopped the party scene when I was threatened with expulsion for horrible grades. I went pretty wild for my first two years. So much regret."

"It takes a lot of self control to change your life style, I can admire that you made the choice." Dean said honestly. "I played video games as a teenager, mostly things like Halo, but I haven't played in a while. My favorite alcohol, beer is always nice and easy but I go for tequila pretty regularly as well. You?" He asked.
"So what brings you here for this little...experiment?" He then asked.

Dean chuckled. "I can imagine if I had a sister that I wouldn't super helpful in her dating life either, but probably intentionally. Maybe it was lucky I only had brothers." He said. "How many brothers do you have? And what is their definition of 'helping'?" He asked, amused.

She chuckled. "I have four brothers. They think they need to either set me up with their friends, or introduce themselves to whomever I've brought to meet them in goofy or embarrassing ways. It's been a deal breaker on several occasions. But yes, I'm still very close to them."

Dean chuckled lightly as she talked about her brothers. "Well, then I guess this is the perfect opportunity." He said.
"Hmmm, something I don't tell many people..." He paused and he thought about what to say. "Well, just about everyone know that I love surfing, but I actually first got into it after my mom died of cancer when I was 9. Being out on the water has always been an escape for me, a way to find peace in the world when it things get hard."
Another pause. "Maybe that was a bit much for a first date." He said with a guilty chuckle.

"I'm so sorry to hear that. Although having the escape is nice too. I may not surf, but the rain is always peaceful to listen to when I need an escape. I couldn't tell you the last time I just sat and listened, though. My job keeps me busy."
There was a moment's silence, before she spoke again. "Are there other outdoor hobbies you enjoy? Rock climbing, horseback riding, sky diving? Do you go to any amusement parks?"

"Oh ya? What is that you do for work? I don't think I've asked you that yet." He asked.
"Oh for sure, all the things. Anything exhilarating. I like the thrill of the risk, the endorphins you get from doing something that makes your heart thump. I've been rock climbing, only one on real rocks though unfortunately. I love amusement parks, I'm definitely the 'find the biggest baddest coaster sort of guy. Sky diving is on my bucket list but I haven't made it happen yet. I have done bungee jumping though, that was crazy cool."
"What about you? Are you an outdoor girl or an indoor girl?" He asked. "What do you like to do?"
