You arrived yesterday and met all of your suite mates. Today is your first day of dates! This morning your phones were all taken from you and will be returned either when you go home or at the start of stage 3! No social media, no contact with the outside world, just a chance for you to focus on your connections with other people here. (You were told this would be the case when you first signed up to be a participant)
The first round of dates will be relatively quick. You'll get a chance to meet all the ladies/gents. The first dates will last about 10-20 minutes (IC) and the purpose is a short little getting to know you.
Here are some topics you might consider talking about (though it's TOTALLY up to you):
General lifestyle (partier/works a lot/spends most time at home alone)
Occupation
Hopes for this event/what you're looking for in a spouse
Hobbies/Passions

- Posts are limited to 150 words! The idea is to give your characters a little taste but leave them wanting MORE!

Hugh came in and sat just as the woman on the other side started talking. "Speyeria. That's a cool name." He replied. "And yes, yes it does." He said with a small awkward chuckle. "But we're all going through this strangeness together right?" He said with a smile in his voice. "I'm Penn."
He waited while she asked a question. "Oh, that's a good question. At home for me, what about you?" Once she answered he'd take a stab at asking something. "Are you a pet person?"

She chuckled. "I suppose we are, so no one is alone here." At her turn to answer, she spoke confidently. "I'd rather spend time at home. I'm a bit of a game geek."
"I don't have any pets, that isn't to say I don't love them."

"Are you really?" Her title of game geek had certainly got his attention. "Me too, I'm a software developer actually. I spend my life around tech and games. What sort of games do you like?" He asked with eagerness and interest in his voice.

"I actually minored in game design in college. That's so cool that you're a developer. I love playing first person shooters, and rpg's with a good story. What's your favorite game?" She may have sounded a bit excited.

"Oh no way! That's awesome! Oh... that's a hard question." He paused, trying to think, the sound of his fingers tapping against the arm of the couch as he thought could be heard. "Probably...Assassins Creed or The Witcher. What about you?" He'd wait til she answered before continuing.
"So you minored in game design. What did you major in? What do you do now?" He asked.

"Assassin's Creed is an excellent game, but if I had to pick my favorite, it would have to be Skyrim. I've added so many mods to my game that it's broken. Random animals fall from the sky, or my character suddenly launches across the screen. It's great for a laugh."
"You'd never believe it, but I majored in agriculture, and I'm a florist. I own my own shop actually. But student loans certainly don't help when trying to turn a profit." She sighed audibly.
"You mentioned pets before, do you have one?"

Penn laughed as she described her crazy broken game. "I love when that sort of stuff happens, even if I do try to avoid it at work." He said with a bright, happy tone.
"A florist, really? That's awesome. And you own your shop, that's really incredible! I really admire people who own their own businesses. Though I feel you about student loans, why does getting a good education have to be so expensive? And endless circle of not being able to get a good job without school and not being able to afford school without a good job." He paused and then realized she couldn't see him. "I, um, just rolled my eyes." he chuckled. "I guess this will take some getting used to."
He cleared his throat as she asked about pets. "Oh, yes, I do. Two tiny little mutts, rescue dogs. They're a lot of fun."

She laughed when he told her he rolled his eyes. "I suppose it is all a learning curve, isn't it?"
"You say tiny, do you mean, Pomeranian tiny? Or do you mean tiny as in skinny?"

"At least it's a learning curve for everyone and not just me I guess." Penn said with a little laugh. "Pomeranian tiny." He said with a little chuckle. "Real manly I know, but they sort of came to me by chance and I guess it's also nice to have some company around, you know." He paused.
"Ya, that didn't make me sound any less lame." He said with a bit of an awkward laugh.

"Well, my friends and I tend to order copious amounts of pizza, bring junk food, soda, and whatever else we decide. Then we watch old movies with the sound muted and make up what they're saying instead. You should see what happens the days alcohol is involved in large amounts."
She laughed. "What about you and your friends?"

Penn laughed with delight. "That sounds like the best night ever!" He admitted. "What's your go-to pizza toppings?" He asked. "I'm gonna move up here closer to the wall...grab a pillow for my behind...my blanket..." He sighed as he got comfortable closer to her.
"Alright, so where were we? Ah, my friends. We have a couple regularly rotated activities. Frisbee golf tournaments, competitively playing really bad video games that no one ever plays, or comic con prep." He said. "I usually hang out with the same two guys, we were roommates in college and have been close ever since."

"MMM! Nice! Honestly, for me, it's a bit controversial I know..." He said with a mock defensive tone. "I like me some good ol' ham and pineapple." He said with playfully guilty.
"Oh all sorts of games, we've done old Atari games or games that have terrible reputations like Hotel Mario, Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing, Bubsy 3D. Anything goofy, the worse the graphics the better." He chuckled.
"We have dressed up for comic con, yes." He admitted. "We usually pick a theme. I've been Star-Lord, Kylo Ren, Jon Snow, Link...I even lost a bet once and had to go as Princess Peach...that was less fun." He said with an embarrassed laugh.

She laughed. "Don't be ashamed of your favorites. I do like the pineapple pizza too, it's different. And Atari has made some horribly graphicked games."
"I can't imagine having to dress like Peach, even I wouldn't do that. Did you go clean shaven, or full stubble to spite the costume?"
There was a pause, then a sigh. "Seems we're almost out of time, and I really wanted to share more stories. You'd better promise me a second date. I want to know so much more about you."
"Anything else you'd like to tell me? Dirty secrets?" She chuckled.

"Full stubble! I looked terrible. To fair, the bet was only for an hour, so that was my saving grace. But hey, it was comic com, there was more friendly laughing than mocking, so it turned out all right." He said with a chuckle.
"Oh no! Really?! That went by way too fast! Scouts honor, you shall your second date m'lady. This has been awesome, I definitely want to quote unquote "see" you again." He told her.
There was the sound of him rubbing his hands together as he thought about her question. "Dirty secrets huh? Let's see, what have I got? Ah! Got it. But you have to promise not tell anyone..." he said playfully conspiratorial. "I'm terrified of birds. Can't stand them. They freak me out with tiny beaks and talons and the sound of their feathery wings. Ugh. Makes me shudder."

"Fair is fair, I have a crushing fear of heights. I ride rollercoasters with my hands over my eyes. Is that sad?"

She'd wait for any last remarks, then say goodbye and leave the pod.
