You arrived yesterday and met all of your suite mates. Today is your first day of dates! This morning your phones were all taken from you and will be returned either when you go home or at the start of stage 3! No social media, no contact with the outside world, just a chance for you to focus on your connections with other people here. (You were told this would be the case when you first signed up to be a participant)
The first round of dates will be relatively quick. You'll get a chance to meet all the ladies/gents. The first dates will last about 10-20 minutes (IC) and the purpose is a short little getting to know you.
Here are some topics you might consider talking about (though it's TOTALLY up to you):
General lifestyle (partier/works a lot/spends most time at home alone)
Occupation
Hopes for this event/what you're looking for in a spouse
Hobbies/Passions

Liam entered the room and heard the woman on the other side introduce herself. "Nice to meet you Speyeria, that's a cool name. What does it mean? Oh and My name is Liam." he paused for a moment to listen to her question, then he continued speaking. "I've got a long list of hobbies you'll find out about later. But the one thing that's more exciting to me than all of my hobbies combined, is going to New places and trying new things. Traveling or trying out new food, new games and new activities has a way of making me feel alive. That's mostly why I'm here. I wanted to try something new. What about you? "

"My name is actually the scientific name of an endangered specie of butterfly. My mom was, kind of obsessed," she chuckled.
"Trying new things is good. Although my budget doesn't always allow for travel. I enjoy games, though. What kind of food have you tried?"
"I mostly came here because I'd like to meet someone without my brothers helping to introduce me. Sometimes their help us not so helpful."

Liam gave a subtle chuckle at the comment about her name "that's a really cute way to get a name. Plus if the species dies out, at least your name will be a reminder of their existence." when she continued speaking Liam paused to listen to her, then he continued. "I've honestly lost count of the kinds of food I have tried over the years. There's been some really delicious meals, and some meals that put me in the hospital. It was all worth it though. " Liam said the last part while laughing. "I know how you feel. My sister has been setting me up with girls since we were kids. And it gets worse as we get older. What's the worst date your brothers have set you up on? "

"I can't imagine being hospitalized for food, unless it was for a ghost pepper or Carolina reaper challenge."
"The worst date? Picking just one will be hard. Hmm. Oh! They set me up with one of their friends at the fair, then just abandoned me with the guy. All he wanted to do was try fair food. Now don't get me wrong, food is awesome, but while I had to sample all the food, my brothers got to see everything else, ride rides, and even go to the monster truck show. It was awkward and terrible and I'm still mad I missed the trucks."
"Sometimes my brothers just do goofy or embarrassing things in front of dates I've chosen, and it's been a deal breaker for a few of them."
"What about you? What was your worst date? Have any messy breakups?"
