You arrived yesterday and met all of your suite mates. Today is your first day of dates! This morning your phones were all taken from you and will be returned either when you go home or at the start of stage 3! No social media, no contact with the outside world, just a chance for you to focus on your connections with other people here. (You were told this would be the case when you first signed up to be a participant)
The first round of dates will be relatively quick. You'll get a chance to meet all the ladies/gents. The first dates will last about 10-20 minutes (IC) and the purpose is a short little getting to know you.
Here are some topics you might consider talking about (though it's TOTALLY up to you):
General lifestyle (partier/works a lot/spends most time at home alone)

Hopes for this event/what you're looking for in a spouse

"Hi there! I'm Valeria, if we become friends or more or whatever, you can call me Val." She laughed, hoping the mystery person on the other side could take a joke. "So what's your story?"

"Nice to meet you, Valeria. I shall endeavor to get the "Call me Val" achievement." He chuckled. "That's a trick question, I got a lot." He laughed. "I guess I'll get this out and on the table already. I was born and raised in California, but by raised I should clarify that I pretty much had to raise myself. So I got plenty of stories." He told her. A bit unsure If he wanted to get personal so fast, but given their situation, they were going to have to at some point. Better sooner than later right?

"Straight out the gate into the heavy, I can dig that," Valeria said, her voice softened up, a rare thing. "I'm from San Diego originally too, my mom was a single mom, but I always had my twin brother for company and we helped out as much as we could. It's a small family, but we're pretty tight."
She paused for a second, "hey I just want to say that I really appreciate you being so open with me. This whole thing is weird and kinda crazy, but I always say that when things are weird and crazy, the best thing to do is jump right in."

"I try and be honest with people as much as I can. In my profession, I kind of have too, but thanks! Everything is weird and crazy, but I'm down for the experience!" He told her. "Blake Carson." He introduced himself. "That's also pretty awesome about your fam Valeria. I gotta admit I'm a bit envious." He let a nervous chuckle out. "One of the things I'm wanting out of this experiment is a family. What about you?" He asked.

"I've always wanted a big family." Valeria said thoughtfully. "I think growing up all my friends had bigger families than me. My brother got engaged last year, we keep joking that if I meet the right person too, our kids can grow up together. See, my mom was an only child so we never had any cousins."
"What's your profession? Sounds hard if you have to talk to a lot of people so openly."

Blake listened to Valeria talk, nodding his head as she spoke, and then realized she couldn't see him so he stopped. "Okay, prepare yourself." He said. He gave her a moment before he continued. "Technically I'm already a Doctor, but I'm studying my specialty still so I got a few more years before I'm a full-fledged master doc. So I call it Resident Trauma Doctor, but really I'm a Doc doing his residency in Trauma. If that makes any sense. You come in right after a car accident or shoot yourself in the foot, I'm the doc that gets to patch you back together." He explained.
"Also, That's super awesome. I uh..." He paused. "Well, I was a ward of the state for my whole life pretty much, so I don't have any family. But I do know I also want a big one."

"Wow I can't imagine how hard that must've been. This is going to the longest I've ever gone without talking to my family and that's already so weird to me."Valeria said.
"Oh I think I've met a doctor like you before! I got into a snowboarding accident once and had to get sent to the ER. Good thing I always wear my helmet. Wow you've probably seen so much. It sound stressful as hell. So what do you do to take your mind off things?"

"Yup! That would be me, and good on you for wearing your helmet! A lot of people don't, and it can sometimes be the only thing between life and death. I've seen too many accidents where people don't." He grimaced as the images he'd seen flashed before his eyes for a second.
"I'm a parttime Gardener and a Chef. I gotta be working with my hands constantly, so they're the perfect hobbies. With my job I'm constantly going, so when I'm home I really try to do chill relaxing things like growing my own herbs and vegetables. Got an Orange tree too so I get fresh oranges, and then cooking gives me another challenge altogether. I like to experiment sometimes with different flavors and-" He stopped himself. "Have you fallen asleep yet? Because I will go on and one right now if you don't stop me." He chuckled.

"Wait you cook and you garden?" Valeria was awestruck with this information. "Holy crap! Ok so I'm gonna be straight with you here," she laughed this time. "My number one thing on my list, and you can ask any girl here to verify this info, is I need a husband that can cook because if I don't, then my future kids will be like me and know next to no homecooked meals. I can brew beer all day long, I can even light a grill, but if you ask me to cook, I am so bad at it I think I've defied the laws of physics.

Blake grinned wickedly. "If I feed you, will it get me the "Call me Val" Achievement unlocked?" He asked. Mischief clear in his voice. "And I gotta ask, even if I think I know the answer, do you like to eat Valeria?" He asked. "Because when I cook, I cook to feed a small army. Most of my leftovers go with me to work to share with the staff."

"Umm fuck yeah! I'm not one of those girls that's afraid to eat, the path to my heart goes through my stomach," Valeria said with a laugh. "I thought about making you guess, but I'll give you a free pass. I really love breakfast foods, like any breakfast food, and for any meal."
"Ok so now you've got all this intel on me, you gotta give me a hint about the path to your heart," Valeria teased, doing her best to sound flirty but it mostly just sounded like her.

"Making mental notes to have breakfast for dinner whenever possible." He said as if he was writing something down. He chuckled then. "Okay, I'll open up a little bit more. Having an open mind to things and not judging me when I don't get certain references that everyone should know will give you big brownie points. But you already got big brownie points for loving to eat, and brewing beer? What sort of man would I be if that wasn't a direct line to the heart?" He said a bit astonished before he laughed again. "Gotta be honest Val, I'm a real simple man who likes good company and someone who isn't gonna judge me on the hell I've been through."

"Ok noted, I've got a notebook in front of me and I'm like underlining that," Valeria told him. "Yeah unlimited and sometimes custom beer, soon to be whiskey! I like to think that's on par with an endless supply of french toast."
Then her tone got serious, it softened up a bit, "hey, I think our pasts are what makes us grow, people like us that didn't have it easy peasy, it's what makes us stronger. I pretty much live under a rock when it comes to pop culture outside of like beer and sports and the only time I'll judge you is if we're watching hockey and I catch you cheering for the Arizona Coyotes."
"I've been sitting here against this glass wall and I wish I could hold your hand right now." Valeria said shyly.

"Well Fuck, You start making rum and I'll just pack our bags for the alter." He chuckled. He listened to Valeria then and found himself shifting and moving the floor. Sitting with his back against the glass, he grabbed one of the pillows and hugged it. "I agree with you 100%. I've learned to just take the punches, get up and keep going. It's how I've survived." He rested his chin on the pillow. "Do not cheer for Arizona Coyotes, also noted." He chuckled. "Oh really? Well I"m late to the floor, but I just got here." He was smiling and he hoped it showed in his voice. "I'd hold your hand too Val. You're a pretty darn spectacular lady. You're even allowing me to call you Val! That means I've at least entered the friend zone." He chuckled.

"I mean, that doesn't sound that much harder than whisky. Its just about the same equipment..." Valeria mused, "I guess Winter Twins rum sounds pretty catchy too. Get on my really good side and I might even let you name it."
Valeria let out a happy sigh, "Yeah I guess you can call me Val, but I want a second date out it. You know, most people at least try to make me a breakfast burrito when they get on that level, but since we're in these pods, I'll let it slide this time."

"If you can bribe them, then you should surprise me. I'm not allergic to anything and I'm used to ordering off Uber Eats for dinner so yeah." Valeria said with a laugh. "The name is because my last name is Winter and I'm a twin and my business partner is my twin. I love snow but I don't look like a snow princess or Santa Claus or anything."

"Deal, I'll get a surprise in here waiting for you then when we hear each other next." His tone was serious too, implying he'd actually do it. "You don't look like Mrs. Claus? Aawww man. She seems like the type of lady who gives the best hugs." He said sounding disappointed before he snickered. "Valeria Winter huh? You sound like some kickass Shield Maiden. Also, I really like the brand name. It's got roots, and I think that's important." He told her. "Gotta have those family roots ya know? Reminds you of where you come from. In my case it's where's I'm going, but all the same, I like it, and I like you Valeria Winter."

"For the record, I still think I give the best hugs," Valeria informed him with a laugh, "So if I don't eat breakfast tomorrow because I'm anticipating this burrito so much, you gotta deliver or you'll be stuck talking to my growling stomach and I'm not sure if she's as funny as I am." Valeria paused for a moment, "You know what, I think I like you to Blake Carson, and I may or may not have given production some beer to stock the houses with."
