You arrived yesterday and met all of your suite mates. Today is your first day of dates! This morning your phones were all taken from you and will be returned either when you go home or at the start of stage 3! No social media, no contact with the outside world, just a chance for you to focus on your connections with other people here. (You were told this would be the case when you first signed up to be a participant)
The first round of dates will be relatively quick. You'll get a chance to meet all the ladies/gents. The first dates will last about 10-20 minutes (IC) and the purpose is a short little getting to know you.
Here are some topics you might consider talking about (though it's TOTALLY up to you):
General lifestyle (partier/works a lot/spends most time at home alone)
Occupation
Hopes for this event/what you're looking for in a spouse
Hobbies/Passions

"Hey Valeria! I'm Parker. Wow you women are so forward, I love it!" Parker said with a laugh. This was his second date and the second time someone else beat him to the first word. "Ok so I used to have a lot of legos and I've made some really cool stuff with them. The easier answer is my blog, but that's work and that's not a very fun answer."

"I too, have more legos as an adult than as a kid. I went to school for architecture so I may or may not be working on collecting the entire lego architecture series, because that's the type of nerd I am," Parker said with a smile.
"I'm a travel blogger now, I quit my job because apparently designing buildings isn't as fun as taking photos and learning about them. So I didn't want to work for the man and decide to follow my dreams instead. What do you do?"

"Hey, cheers to not working for the man. I got a business degree and I guess I use it sometimes with the whole running a business thing," Valeria said cheerfully. "I run a brewery, just a small thing but we're growing, some local restaurants and food trucks carry our stuff and so do the local co-ops. I'm guessing with all your travel, you've had the chance to drink and eat some really cool stuff! What's the weirdest thing you've ever put in your mouth?"

Yes, I've eaten scorpion not just once, but twice. it was delicious, a great source of protein and hell yeah I'd do it again."

"Don't worry, I'm not afraid of dirty jokes, I just might not have very many of them to return," Valeria said with a laugh "Wow so did it taste like chicken?"
"So the weirdest thing, I can't call it weird but I brew beer for a living and I've definitely tasted some really questionable flavor experiments. Like once my brother and I were really determined to brew a beer that we could call a pizza inspired beer," Valeria laughed at the memory.

"Ok so I know pizza inspired beer is supposed to be gross, but I'm pretty intrigued. Would you call me crazy if I wanted to try it?" Parker asked, actually pretty serious he'd do it. "What if you made a roasted scorpion flavored beer? I bet that would be a total hit and I'd totally be your taste tester. Don't worry it doesn't taste like chicken, but one of them I totally put ketchup on it."
"I like your laugh, it sounds like you're really happy, is that a weird compliment?" Parker asked.

"I mean if I call you crazy for wanting to try it, I'd be calling myself crazy. It's weird but it wasn't downright awful. I don't really recommend it. Now roasted scorpion flavored beer, that sounds pretty sick, I guess I'll have to try a roasted scorpion first to have an idea of what that tastes like. Tomatoes and beer, don't go together so hold the ketchup." Valeria said, she couldn't stop laughing at the ridiculousness. "Well with the way this is going I'm glad you like my laugh because you'll probably hear a lot of it. Yours is nice too."
"So where does one go to find a roasted scorpion, because now I really want to try one. Do you think production will bring me one if I ask them really nicely?"

"Ok so I say ketchup because in my opinion, scorpions taste kinda like french fries. I know, that's like super weird but it's true. You can find them in Asia, like in China and southeast Asia. I had them when I was in Thailand. Just imagine like a really crispy french fry, but it's protein so it's actually better for you than a french fry," Parker said, a laugh in his voice. "Ummm I think they'd be able to get you fries, but not scorpions."
"So you brew beer and you're an adventurous eater, what other kickass stuff do you do?"

"Ok let's see, I snowboard. I used to play basketball in high school. I build my own furniture, reclaimed wood and stuff," Valeria listed off. "On my bucket list, I want to try skydiving one day and climb mount Everest," she added with flair. "So protein french fries are scorpions, got it. I'm literally going to write that down. I'm making a section in my notebook for new beer ideas and that's the first entry. Feel honored, but not that honored."

"I'm going to feel honored either way that you would take my humble suggestion and I'll also add the suggestion that you should sell scorpions on a stick as a side hustle. Could be a good business for the health nuts that want something crunchy," Parker said, "but it does sound like you do a lot already."
"I've seen Everest in the distance but I'm so far from ready to climb it. One day. I don't say bucket list, I say to do list and from what it sounds like, you accomplish like everything you put your mind to. Like holy hell you're such a badass," Parker said with a lighthearted laugh. "And I'd skydive with you, but you'd have to hear me scream like a little girl the whole time. Will you make fun of me if that happens?"

"Or maybe you think I'm like super weird for liking that, it's just freeing," she said. "And I'll think about the scorpion thing, might be a little challenging to source."

Parker laughed, "I totally get what you mean. Sometimes you just gotta release stuff and put it into the world." He paused for a moment. "I think I spent a lot of my life not knowing what that was like. Then I started traveling and I was all go go go for a long time until I found myself at this hot spring on some mountain in Japan. It was like the first time I ever really relaxed and I just let it all out. Wow it must be the wine or something, I never tell people stuff like this." Parker said. "So have you had any life-changing epiphanies?"

"Oh my god, too many of those really," Valeria said, "Not as deep as a hot spring though, at least I don't think so. I think I learned a lot about myself in college and that's like really cliche but it's true. I dated people but nothing ever lasted more than a few months and one day it like clicked for me... I realized the problem wasn't me not being all girly and cute and stuff, it's society. I'm a badass and I don't want to apologize and if it scares guys off it scares guys off. I wanted to be confident and just be me." she confessed, "I feel like you're easy to talk to and wouldn't care that I hate heels and I've literally never gotten a manicure in my life. But, I'm still a woman, I like cuddling and stuff too." Her voice was thoughtful, and softer.

"No manicures, don't worry that's not a dealbreaker for me. Honestly if you needed manicures all the time, that would be a dealbreaker because I like going off grid sometimes, not a single salon in sight. You sound like you can rough it." Parker said with a laugh. "So you're a big softie inside aren't you? " Parker said teasingly. "I'm kidding, but only kinda. I'd cuddle you if I could. I have a feeling that you spend a lot of time hiding your softer side and I get that because I'm sorta the same." he paused, "Am I right?" he asked softly.

"Well I wouldn't say I hide it, not on purpose at least," Valeria admitted. "I- I think it's just something that shows up often that's all. I'm down to rough it but you gotta impress me quite a bit if you want my cuddles. Plus I think I'm a bit out of practice with them," she said with a teasing laugh, "you? Soft side nah, just kidding I have an idea of how you like to chill. I'm feeling some strong little spoon energy from you," she said, a bold flirtatious tease.

"I'm not sure how I feel about you calling me out like that because we haven't spooned yet, but I'll have you know I like being either spoon, I'm usually the big spoon though," Parker said, pretending to huff about it, but it was clear he was teasing her. "I hope that I can impress you enough with scorpion facts that I have a chance of being someone you want to cuddle. But in all seriousness, it's all about the person you're cuddling and the place you're cuddling with. Like somewhere with a view and a nice warm fire, maybe a fuzzy blanket. I am now going to admit that I am a grown ass man, but I really love blanket forts when I'm home, because I might just be a big kid at heart."

"Oh my god, I love blanket forts! Have you ever made a blanket pirate ship? My brother and I used to use pillows as cannon balls, it got a little violent sometimes," Valeria said. "You know, that was a pretty smooth answer, I'm typically the big spoon but we might be able to negotiate sometimes. I'll cuddle with you if you can beat me in a blanket pirate ship battle," she said, more flirtatiously than she intended.
