You arrived yesterday and met all of your suite mates. Today is your first day of dates! This morning your phones were all taken from you and will be returned either when you go home or at the start of stage 3! No social media, no contact with the outside world, just a chance for you to focus on your connections with other people here. (You were told this would be the case when you first signed up to be a participant)
The first round of dates will be relatively quick. You'll get a chance to meet all the ladies/gents. The first dates will last about 10-20 minutes (IC) and the purpose is a short little getting to know you.
Here are some topics you might consider talking about (though it's TOTALLY up to you):
General lifestyle (partier/works a lot/spends most time at home alone)

Hopes for this event/what you're looking for in a spouse
Hobbies/Passions

Trout munched on a candy bar until he thought he heard someone enter the other side of the pod.
"Hey? Uh, if you're there, then hi. I'm Trout. I promise I do not actually look like a fish...in fact, I don't even like eating fish that much." He laughed a little nervously.

Valeria laughed, it was loud and genuine "You're funny! I like that! Hi Trout, I'm Valeria Winter and I don't think I look like a snow princess or Santa Claus or anything, but I do love snow" she said. "I'm not the biggest seafood person either, but I don't not like fish. I can't do sushi though, I want my food cooked, preferably hot. The only cold food I like is ice cream."

"Good answer," Trout replied enthusiastically, "Ice cream is second only to pizza, in my book. It's gotta be full of chocolate chunks and brownies and stuff though, that's the best. Like, at that one place where you watch them mix it on the counter, and you can add all kinds of stuff, ya know? What's your favorite flavor?"

"Cookie dough is the best, but yeah I love stuff in my ice cream, it adds to the texture. Are you a cup or cone person?" Valeria said with another laugh. She then put on a tone of mock seriousness "Choose your answer carefully, I'll be judging you on it." she warned playfully. "Damn, I really want some ice cream now. I've been like snacking on all this chocolate all day though. I ain't even ashamed to admit it"

"A woman after my own heart," Trout replied, crinkling the wrapper of his candy, "I think I've eaten my weight in Hershey's today. But hey, gotta deal with all this somehow." He laughed. "I'm probably more a waffle cone guy, bonus if it was chocolate dipped. Then it's like you got to add an extra topping, sorta, because it's crunchy. That's the good stuff."

Actually I'm not sorry about that at all. Dude after all this chocolate I'm going to have to hit the slopes extra hard the next time I'm on a mountain."
"Ok so this is my possibly failing attempt at being serious" she said through a laugh. Valeria took a deep breath and used the most serious tone she could muster. "Ahem, Mr. Trout, tell me about your family. Do you have siblings?"

"Definitely don't be sorry. But uh, gotta warn you I've never been anywhere near a mountain for any athletic reason. Not my thing. I run when it's nice enough, like, once a week, but like...Nah. I'm not real adventurous on my own, I gotta be dragged into it.
"Ok, super serious. Go." He said, then waited for the question. "Well, Mistress Valeria," he replied in his best British accent, which was surprisingly not terrible, "I have an older brother and a younger sister. Both of them think I am an alien creature from another planet because I don't enjoy playing soc--Football--with them. Their names are Kyler and Annaliese. They prefer to be called Kyle and Annie."

Valeria tried to hold a serious face but burst out laughing at the British accent, "Ok that's pretty great, god I'm sorry I'm such a dork!" she said before composing herself. "If you need to be dragged to the ski lift, I might have to do it. So your siblings aren't also named after things that are found in a forest? Do you come from a family that loves soccer? My twin brother and I used to play basketball in high school, before he switched to football."

Nah, just me. I would have been Joanna if I was a girl, cuz that was dad's pick, and mom got to pick if it was a boy. Mom lucked out. But yeah, they totally love soccer, it's like, all they talk about. I honestly don't understand much about it except that the ball needs to go in the net, and that people fake injuries when they play on TV just to be dramatic." He laughed. "I dunno, sports just aren't really my thing. I'll watch hockey if it's in person, though. That stuff is brutal, and you can't help getting caught up in it. It's fast paced, you know? I think I'd die if someone made me sit and watch golf, though."

I'm a hockey fan too, Colorado Avalanche fan because I went to college over there," Valeria said, "I would totally try to play hockey if I was a better ice skater and I'd also totally die either watching or playing golf. How is it even a sport? They just stand there and golf cart around. Cheerleading takes more energy than that!" Valeria commented.

Alright well it's definitely not skiing. I'm more of an indoorsman than an outdoorsman. I love computers, video games, Dungeons and Dragons, and watching weird tutorials on YouTube. Also spend a lot of time trying to figure out how my overweight cat gets on top of the fridge. He's a ninja."
