Post by Liam Shaw on Apr 10, 2020 3:50:09 GMT
Liam Shaw arrived to the men's suite first, he wore a well tailored charcoal suit with a white shirt underneath. Since he wasn't going to be working today, he didn't bother wearing a tie. Liam then calmly unbuttoned the first two buttons of his shirt, before he began unloading his luggage from the shuttle and giving his driver a tip.
Liam nonchalantly moved his luggage to the nearest room possible without much of a concern for which room he picked, because he generally didn't care. His mind was more focused on other things, like how his law firm might burn to the ground in his absence. Liam didn't bother unpacking. Instead, he made his way to the kitchen and immediately opened the liquor display cabinet to see what they had in stock. After a few minutes of scanning the liquor cabinet, a smile made its way onto Liam's face as he noticed a bottle of scotch he was familiar with. "Not bad" his calm and slightly deep voice reverberated with pleasure as he grabbed the bottle of top shelf scotch.
Because this was a new environment, Liam had no idea where to find rocks glasses in this kitchen. So he began the tedious task of trying to find out which drawers and cabinets the glasses and other types of cutlery were kept in. After a few seconds, Liam had managed to find a pair of rocks glasses and some ice. He put several ice cubes into one of the glasses then proceeded to pour scotch into his glass. Once he had poured enough, Liam took his glass and calmly strolled to one of the chairs near the pool so he could enjoy his drink properly. He took a long sip from his glass then pulled out his cell phone in order to call his receptionist and ask for an update on was happening in the office. Getting an update on what was happening at work while he was gone would be a productive use of his time while he waited for the other men to arrive .

Penn took a deep breath in front of the door of the suite before he entered, preparing himself for whatever would come out of all of this. Entering the suite he didn't see anyone right away and moved to find a room. He only looked in a couple before choosing one and setting his luggage on the bed. He looked out the window at the view and considered unpacking but ultimately decided he should try to be social, so he left the room to see if anyone else was there. He soon found a man sitting in a chair near the pool ( Liam Shaw) with a drink in hand and Penn moved approached him. However, upon seeing him pull out his phone, he changed his mind and moved back into the house, not wanting to interrupt. He looked around the main living areas, getting a feel for the layout of the house while he waited for others to arrive.

Percy West stepped out of the shuttle and hauled a sleek black rolling suitcase out of the trunk. The more precious cargo he carried was his violin case. He didn't actually know what he was going to do with a violin in a house where he was supposed to be focused on dating, but he felt better with it. He brushed the cat hair that somehow was still on his trenchcoat and went inside. He picked out the room with the most windows since he liked a lot of light, not that there was much in way of choices. He put his coat away, revealing comfy gray joggers he had worn on the plane and a navy blue henley.
The living area looked to be full of stuff to do, plus there was a pool and what looked to be a full bar. Percy meandered over to the bar to find another one of the guys already in the living area.
"Hey there, I'm Percy." he said with a maybe awkward wave. He then busied his hands with opening the first bottle of red wine he saw. Honestly he wasn't nearly as picky about his drink as he should be. "Want a glass too?" He paused to actually read the bottle. "It's a merlot"

Dean strolled into the suite with a duffle bag over one shoulder and a smile. As he came into the common area he spotted two men, one pouring glasses of wine, he lifted his chin in greeting. “Hey there.” He said cheerily. He dropped his bag on a sofa, not bothering to take the time to browse the bedrooms right now. “I’m Dean.” He said, moving back towards the others. “Could I grab one of those?” He asked the man with the Merlot. “I wonder how many people will be here. Do you guys have any idea?”

"Of course mate" Percy's mother was originally from Australia and his father was from Tennessee. That left him with a mostly neutral American accent but also a vocabulary that included "mate" and "ya'll" as well as an undeniable love for Vegemite. He flipped another glass up from the counter and poured the standard amount with a little more. "They're keeping us well stocked from what it looks like. Cheers!" Percy looked around the surroundings. There was plenty of alcohol for anyone's taste he'd imagine. "No clue, but I guess what matters is finding the right person and we only need one of those each," he said with a light laugh. Percy had already enjoyed bachelor life in his early twenties and had firmly decided he hated living and being alone. "Where are you guys from?" Dean Baelish

Dean took the glass with a cheers motion and a wide smile. He wasn't used to being called 'mate', he didn't mind it. He laughed at Percy's comment. "Ya, I guess that's true, only need one." He was a little nervous that he would still end up leaving here alone but he was trying to remain hopeful. If nothing else was working out, then he may as well give it a shot right? "Right here, San Diego, born and raised."

Liam was in the middle of his call when he heard the door to the men's suite open. His attention drifted away from his phone call for a moment when he heard footsteps and what sounded like voices in the suite. Then Liam refocused himself in order to conclude his call. "thank you for the update Emma, Jason will close the deal in my place. He'll arrive in three days. Keep me posted until then. " Liam spoke nonchalantly, then he hung up and finished off the rest of his drink. Obviously Liam wouldn't really leave everything in another person's hands, he hadn't gotten this far in life by leaving things to chance. Liam would call in a few favors later on today to ensure that things went his way. Even if Jason fucked up.
Liam placed his phone in his pocket and went back inside to check on the men that had just arrived while he was taking his call outside near the pool. To his surprise there were already three other men in the suite. "nice to meet you gentlemen. " Liam spoke while walking toward the kitchen counter. Instead of speaking any further, Liam listened to what the other men were saying without interrupting their conversation, as he walked toward the counter.
When he reached the kitchen counter, Liam placed the bottle of scotch and his glass on it, and poured more scotch into his glass. When Percy asked where they were from, Liam listened to Dean's response while taking a sip from his Glass. Then he began speaking. "My name is Liam Shaw. Born and raised in San Diego too. "

Blake took his sweet ole time, or maybe everyone else just got there super early, as he got of the shuddle and carried his large duffel up and to his new home for the next several weeks. When he entered the suite he was surprised to find four men already there. "Hey!" He called, closing the door behind him as he walked in. "I'm Blake. Which rooms are still free?" He asked. He'd wait to be directed before he went to one of the remaining unclaimed rooms. Not really caring. He tossed his bag onto the bed, and toed off his shoes, before digging a pair of basketball shorts and changing out his jeans. He came back out then, feeling a hundred times more comfortable.
He came up to the liquor cabinet seeing that everyone had already dug into the booze, and snatched the first rum bottle he spotted. He closed the cabinet quietly, not wanting to interrupt the conversation and headed to the fridge, opening it he found a coke can, and grabbed it. Doing a quick mental inventory of what the fridge had so he knew what he had to work within making dinner later. He closed the fridge with a push of his hip and put the coke can between his elbow. "Glasses?" He asked. Waiting to be directed to the right cabinet. He quickly made his rum and coke then, sipping, and enjoying the bubble sensation from the carbonation. He put the rum back, and then found a spot to be included at the counter, and leaned against it.

Alex was directed and ushered to one of the unclaimed rooms. He had a duffel bag of clothing and a guitar strapped to his back. The young man set his bag down on the bed, looked himself once over in the mirror and adjusted his black button up shirt. He smoothed his hands over the black denim jeans and decided he looked fine enough. He made his way out to the living room and took note that a lot of the guys were already there. He spotted another guy being directed to the glasses and took a note of where they were. He rustled through the liquor cabinet and picked up a bottle of whiskey, he went and grabbed a glass and poured himself a decent cup. "Not a wine dude?" He made a comment to the guy who had just entered and gotten himself a rum and coke.
He extended a hand out in a friendly manner and glanced over the room. "Alex."

Blake turned to the newcomer he'd seen getting a glass himself and grinned at him. "Not really, I'm more of a rum guy." He said. He switched his drink to his other hand and then leaned over to shake Alex's hand. "Blake." He said introducing himself. He'd give Alex a well practiced hand shake before letting his hand go and then taking another sip of his drink.
He nodded his head to the room Alex had come out of. "Saw the guitar, I take it you play?" He asked him. "Know any Van Halen?" He said as a grin settled on his face.

Percy took a sip of his merlot. He smiled that the kitchen was house was filling up quickly, that meant he'd hopefully have some friends to get through this madness with. "Nice, I'm from Tennessee originally, but I live in Brooklyn now." Percy still wasn't sure if he was ready to adopt the title of being a New Yorker yet, but his sisters always told him he dressed like a Yankee. His ears picked up the word "guitar" out of the crowd.
"Hey, you're a musician? Me too." In all honesty, he was afraid that he'd be the outcast in a group of engineers and lawyers. Those were the types of guys that women wanted to marry from what his experience said. "I only brought my violin with me, that's my specialty."

Alex gave the man a firm shake and a chuckle. He took a drink from his glass and leaned back to the wall slightly, sliding his now free hand into his pocket. He perked up at the mention of other people actually being musicians as well. It was hard to make an actual living as one but he had been busting his ass and was somehow making it. Small scale but it was a start. "Ya know actually I do. Singer slash guitarist. Busting my ass gigging constantly." He turned to the other man who had joined the conversation. "Seems we got three musicians here. Nice to hear a violin though. What all do you guys play instrument wise? Drums and guitar for me, attempting and failing piano"

"Oh shit, how'd I get here so late?" Parker blurted out when he walked through the front door. He had a bright blue hardshell suitcase behind him, a bright orange backpack on his back, and a black camera bag slung across his shoulder. The man himself was dressed smartly in a tailored casual blazer, black skinny jeans, and a bright blue scarf that matched his suitcase.
He quickly darted down the hall and dropped his stuff off at the first empty room he saw and went back to where everyone was socializing. "I'm Parker, from Boston," he said to no one in particular. That's the type of thing that was at ice breakers right? After all, these guys would be his roommates for the next couple weeks, unless for some reason he proposed on the second day or something. Parker is a guy who knows exactly what he wants and went for it as soon as he saw it.
The first thing that caught his eye was a top shelf scotch that had already been opened. Hell yes. He grabbed a glass and gave himself a generous pour, neat. "Whoever broke out the Macallan, you're a good man! You'd make a great groomsman if I find a wife in this!" he said with a laugh.

Percy broke into a grin "Sweet! I brought my violin and my harmonica, maybe we can jam a bit while we're here, you know when we're not serenading our future wives." Percy wasn't actually that nervous. If it happened it happened. "Music is kinda my family's thing. My folks run a record label so they made sure I learned all the basics, piano, guitar, drums, but my real passion is violin and songwriting. I mostly stay in the recording studio helping other people." The stage was not Percy's thing. It wasn't that he had stage fright since he was pretty much raised on it, but he hated the feeling of being watched all the time and constantly being judged. "I have a feeling I'll be writing a couple songs about this whole thing." Hey at least if the whole romance stuff was a bust, he'd have some good material right? No Percy, think positive, there's someone with a connection somewhere out there.

Blake held his hands up in a surrender like fashion, spreading his fingers while still holding onto his glass. "Gotta confess my dudes, I haven't actually played an instrument since high school. I had too much energy so the teacher made me play drums." He said with a sheepish smile. "Music was the one thing consistent and something I had a bit more freedom on as a kid, so it was one thing I did listen to a lot of. Wouldn't mind learning some strings though if any of you boys are willing to teach." He said grinning. "You teach me how to use a guitar or violin I'll teach you the best way to cook a steak, grow a tomato, or the proper way to apply stitches." He chuckled. "We might get a somewhat decent band going. Ladies love rock stars right?" He waggled his eyebrows at both Alex and Percy, liking the two already.

Penn remained fairly quiet but answered the question about where he was from when it was asked. "I'm Penn. Born and raised in Montana but living here in San Diego since college." He said. His attention was grabbed by a man bursting through the door loudly and looked up at Parker.
Everyone else was drinking, which was to be expected but Hugh wasn't in the mood at the moment. With a sweet tooth he could rarely satisfy he started looking through the cupboards and smiled as he found a new pack of oreos. He pulled it out and poured himself a glass of milk, standing by the counter in an attempt to at least mingle and not be a loner. Opening the oreos and folding the plastic top underneath so it would stay in place, he moved the cookies towards the center of the table and then took one out.
He had no musical talent or history and had nothing specific to add to the music conversation. He turned to Liam who had introduced himself when he had come inside from his phone call. "What do you do for work, Liam?" He asked.

Alex let out a laugh and raised his glass to his two new...friends? Maybe. "We can all have a jam sesh, and buddy, I will totally teach you how to run a guitar right. It's not that hard when you get the hang of it." He moved his gaze to percy, a devilish smile unfolding on his face. "Dude, you'll be writing your future wife a love song and it'll be a chart topper." He was enjoying the rather boys night feel of things, it reminded him of being at home with his brothers.

Percy looked over at Blake, "Don't worry man, we'll get you serenading too. I'll even back you up at your proposal if I have to. Violins are supposed to be romantic right?" he said with a laugh. "I've written too many love songs over the years but I guess none were really directed at anyone in particular unless Emma Watson counts but she doesn't know I exist." He thought about all the songs he did write, they were all for someone else. It had been a few years since Percy had actually worked on his own music.

Blake turned and fixed Percy with a serious look and wagged his finger at him. "I'm gonna hold you to that now you here? I'll be dragging you into the pod for mood music." He turned and gave the same look to Alex. "I agree." He grinned and looked at Percy. "I'd be amazed if she knew any of us existed." He chuckled, taking a sip of his drink. "So, Percy. Any of those love songs work for you in the past?" He waggled his eyebrows at the other man in good humor.
